Episode 7 ended with five wither skeleton skulls, one short of the six needed for two withers. Episode 8 goes back for the last one. Basket and Scoti_Garbidis walk down a netherrack tunnel under the title card and into a second Nether fortress, one that nobody seems to have touched. "Looks pretty fresh," a voice says.
A fresh fortress
The first chests pay off right away. "Iron horse armor and a diamond here," a voice reports, and the two sort out who has room in their inventory. There is a short debate about leaving a sign in each emptied chest that just says "haha," but they settle on breaking the chests instead.
"We're generating new map here," a voice notes as the halls load in. Where a hallway ends in a drop, they wall it off. "Now nobody can accidentally fall out."
Wart rooms and dead ends
The halls keep going. Two rooms of nether wart sit "back-to-back," a voice points out, and later, "these blaze spawners actually are behind us." "I got shot," a voice says, blaming a regular skeleton. One fight ends with "Nope, no skull," just a piece of coal. A patch of nether quartz gets mined with the wrong pickaxe, and only afterward does anyone remember the Fortune pick in the inventory.
The glowstone run
Big clusters of glowstone hang from the ceiling in one of the open caverns. "This is originally why I came over here," a voice says. Scoti_Garbidis knocks the blocks loose and the dust piles up on the nether brick floor. Afterward they pool it: one has 12, the other has 40 and room to spare. Another chest turns up another diamond.
Skull number six
The two head back to their "kill zone," a long hallway where they can run back and forth and wait for spawns. A skeleton with a bow walks up the tunnel first. Right behind it comes a wither skeleton, and its hit turns Basket's hearts black. The inventory screen shows the Wither effect counting down.
Then the question comes: "Do you have another skull?" The answer is yes. "So now we have six skulls."
The long way out
The route back goes over the roof and down through a hole cut in the ceiling. "Remember that hole I warned you about earlier?" one voice asks. "Still fell in it." An ender pearl comes up as the way across a gap, and the path runs along the edge of a wide lava lake. Near the end, a voice points out where an original portal once spawned next to a sheet of falling lava.
In a third person shot, two players walk down a stone brick corridor lined with fires, the one in front wearing Scoti_Garbidis's nameplate. "Basket did all the hard work, but we've got six wither skulls," a voice says. "I was there for moral support."
A sign at home
One more segment follows. Back at the base, on a grassy floor lined with rows of chests, a new sign sits over a chest: "Here ya go! Thanks for the wither skulls! Cheers! Scoti." Inside is a stack of iron blocks. The narration calls them the last blocks needed and promises to pay them back once more iron comes in. Together with the iron blocks already in storage, it should be enough for the beacon.
The plan from here: kill the withers with Scoti_Garbidis next time, set up the beacon below, and wrap it in obsidian so it can shine up through the base. The end card runs over the base to the last frame.
