Part 2 opens right where Part 1 stopped, in the abandoned mineshaft. After the INVERSION logo and a title card reading "Episode 14, Caving with Scoti & Pooka, Part 2," Basket is back among the wooden beams with a diamond pickaxe and a stack of torches. "Wow, there are a lot of spiderwebs here," a voice says almost at once.
Keeping the spawners
Basket cuts down a passage packed with cobwebs and finds a spawner at the far end, torches already burning at its base and a spider sitting on top of the cage. "I think I might have found another spawner," a voice says. The group settles on a new rule for the trip: the poison spider spawners stay, "just to find out where they are," unless one sits in a really difficult spot. Another voice points out that "you can use those for XP as well, if you have a lot of them."
Going in circles
Splitting up covers more ground but means a lot of calling out to find each other, with zombies and skeletons turning up on all sides.
One coal vein gets careful handling. "I need your water bucket," a voice says, "because there's gonna be lava right underneath this coal."
The torch rule from Part 1 does not hold up either. "All right, we're back where we just started. Went in a big circle," a voice says. "Torches on the right didn't work." Someone has started putting torches on the floor "as a compromise."
Pooling the haul
The three regroup in a cave room with a dirt floor, a wall of furnaces and a few chests. Scoti_Garbidis comes in with a diamond sword, and everything goes into one large chest. "59 coal. Divided three ways," a voice starts, before another explains the pile is only temporary, there to cook with.
A fortune pickaxe goes to work on the ore. "That got us eleven diamonds out of that," a voice says, and the count reaches "twenty diamonds total." A chest minecart turns up "with a diamond in it," and someone claims it: "This one's all mine."
Basket loads the furnaces with gold ore and iron ore and fills a crafting grid with coal to make blocks of coal. "18 blocks of iron," a voice reports. "Oh, there's more coming."
Hellos in chat
The server chat gets busy while the furnaces run. EPiC_HERO_NBK joins the game and types "Deh Herro!", Scoti_Garbidis answers "yo" and Basket types "Heyas!". PsychoSFK says "Hello", Gopherboy adds "EpIc" and Th3pooka types "hihi". Over voice, someone sums it up: "Oh man, this just got epic."
No ravine this time
The plan was to finish in a ravine found right under the room. "Let's hit this ravine," a voice says, but a few minutes later the talk turns to heading back, and the group splits the loot right there in the dirt room. A voice wants the rail for a tunnel, and another tells Basket the tunnel is already connected: "we just have to put the rail down."
Back at Basketopia
The last stretch is back on the grass floor inside Basketopia, where Basket sorts the haul into a chest: blocks of iron, gold and lapis lazuli, plus rail. When 1HTC joins, PsychoSFK, EPiC_HERO_NBK, Scoti_Garbidis and Th3pooka all type a greeting.
The closing narration lists what came out of the trip: name tags, "more rail to finish off that railway," and lit-up caves next to the spot planned for the shifting floors setup, coming "in a couple episodes, or maybe even the next one." That build is there to collect resources. "So I need a lot more monsters to spawn. So the more stuff that's lit up, the better."
The episode ends with Basket's character on the grass in third person, diamond sword in hand among the chests, before the end card.
