Episode 13 starts on the grass floor inside Basketopia, with two players in armor hopping around a bed by the beacon. "Hey everybody, Basket here," the narration opens, and the plan is caving with Scoti and Pooka. Basket wants to build a shifting floors setup, to be explained in a later episode, "but first I wanted to light up some caves."
Down the rail tunnel
A doorway in the dome wall leads to a minecart and a rail line. Basket rides it through a long, narrow stone tunnel lit by torches, with Scoti_Garbidis in a cart up ahead. The track is not quite finished. "I apparently forgot part of the rail," a voice says, and another notes "now we're like on each other's heels." A voice also mentions seven diamonds already waiting to be split up.
Torches on the left
The first cave sits by a pool of water, and Th3pooka is already there. The group talks over silk touch versus fortune. One of them came without a fortune pickaxe ("I didn't bring my fortune pick with me," a voice admits), so an ender chest goes down by the water and Basket checks it. After that it is silk touch for most of the trip.
Lighting the caves comes with a rule. "Oh, that's right, torches on the left," a voice says early on. A few minutes later it flips: "Torches on the right, we're going backwards."
Basket's pickaxe goes into a patch of gold ore, and where a lava pool blocks the way, a water bucket turns the surface to obsidian.
Company in chat
PsychoSFK joins the game partway through. Basket types "Heyas!", Th3pooka answers "yohobro", Scoti_Garbidis adds "what up" and PsychoSFK says "Hello:-)". Later Gopherboy joins with "Waddup" and Th3pooka answers "Yoho Mr. gopher."
Around the same time a voice asks for the ender chest to come out again, with a reason: "I die a lot." The diamonds get stored safely. "So far we have three diamonds each."
Two dungeons
The cave opens into a small mossy cobblestone room with a mob spawner and a chest, and Th3pooka stands at the edge of it. The chest holds a name tag and an enchanted book of Respiration III.
A second dungeon later on has another spawner and another chest, this one with the music disc "13" inside. A voice says to just leave that one in the chest.
Cobwebs in the mineshaft
The tunnels turn into an abandoned mineshaft: wooden beams, old rails and cobwebs strung across the passages. Spiders come out of the dark. Behind one thick patch of webs sits a spawner, and while Basket cuts through, the hearts on screen turn the green-yellow of poison. "There's a poison spider spawner I was trying to get," a voice says. Another voice wonders about keeping the spawners and lighting them up with torches instead.
Somewhere off screen, someone has found a huge coal vein. "Biggest coal node ever!" a voice calls out. "It just does not stop!"
To be continued
The episode ends deep in the mineshaft. Basket walks down a dark passage between wooden supports until the screen goes nearly black, and "To be continued..." comes up before the end card.
