Episode 3 opens in daylight at the village, with "Episode 3" across the screen. Basket and KSores of the teal team have climbed out of their hole under the blacksmith for one thing: sand. Health potions need glass bottles, and glass needs sand. "We probably won't need much sand," a voice says. "Maybe like 15?"
Sand by the river
Basket heads out past chickens to a river with a strip of sand along the bank. Chat posts "UHC BLOX | Eternal | Light," and a voice soon reports "I have 20 sand. I'm going to smelt that." Back in the blacksmith, the furnaces turn it into glass, and the tooltip says so. A voice wishes for a trap on their chest: "it's a shame I only have two gunpowder, otherwise we could make TNT."
When Basket holds up the Tab list, Slyther_ sits at the bottom with no hearts, bUMP3rCarzz and joehillssays are low, and BasketMC and KSores both have full hearts.
Lighting the portal
They go back down the staircase to the obsidian frame from Episode 1. Basket lights it with flint and steel, and it fills with purple. "I'll go first and let you know if it's booby-trapped," a voice offers. On the other side they are in a small room with bedrock close by. "I think we'll be the first ones in the Nether."
A bridge over lava
The Nether side is all netherrack, with "lava pockets everywhere," so they dig carefully. A voice suggests keeping a block in the off hand, and they stay a few steps apart in case one of them has to back up. Basket makes spare stone pickaxes and still carries the melons from the first day. A voice points out they have not lost a single heart yet.
Then a lava lake blocks the way. "Can we bridge across this without dying, you think? I'll go for it." A thin line of cobblestone goes straight across, and Basket follows it over. Partway, a voice calls out "you've been shot," and there is "a little bit of fire on the bridge," but nobody loses a heart.
Blazes at the fortress
After some wandering, a voice spots a fortress. The plan is to "get somewhere enclosed so Blazes can't mess us up with their fireballs." Inside the nether brick walls there are skeletons, and Basket walls off openings as they go. Then something hits Basket, flames flicker across the screen, and the hearts drop from ten to seven. It is the first damage Basket has taken all match.
Two players out
Chat brings news from somewhere else: "Kondrik was slain by MrSquishy." Basket types "gg," and right after, "Brenin_1 was slain by MilesPernicious." That is the whole gold team gone. Back in the fortress, one chest holds a saddle, and a voice is glad of some obsidian, since with just two diamonds they could make an enchanting table.
The episode ends with Basket alive in the fortress, in iron armor at seven hearts, as chat posts "UHC BLOX | Mark | 60 Minutes" and "UHC BLOX | Shrink | Activated." The world border has started to close in.
