Episode 8 is the last episode of the season and the longest. It opens on the same "GopherCraft UHC Season 5" title and six team cards, with no episode number. Eight players are still in: Basket, pikerize and xzosimusx on top of the high-rise, the three purple players, TopStiGearGaming and Scoti_Garbidis. The border is closing, and the team thinks Scoti is somewhere in the building below them.
Scoti in the building
The team splits the work. One of them keeps watch for Scoti while the others watch the neighborhood, calling out movement near the house with the Nether portal. Someone is "down to a stack and a half of arrows." The team can hear blocks being placed or broken on the floor below. "Lava's down," someone says, and a little later, "It didn't do anything." Then a teammate calls out that Scoti has gone all the way down the outside of the building to the ground.
Two more out
Chat reads "TopStiGearGaming was slain by Gopherboy," and a round of "gg" follows. Later, Scoti_Garbidis types "You have the numbers and the high ground gang." BasketMC answers ":D". A few minutes after that, chat shows "Gopherboy hit the ground too hard," and BasketMC types "gg." That leaves six: the three Rooftop Raiders, Moonwillow92, Th3pooka and Scoti_Garbidis.
Cut off on two sides
Night falls with the border's red glow at the edge of their building. Torches go down across the roof, with a request to keep them off the edges. "We have now been cut off on two sides," someone says. Scoti_Garbidis types "this is gonna get messy real soon." The streets below fill with mobs. "They're fighting off zombies, they're trying to get out," a teammate says of the group in a house down below.
Morning comes and the zombies take their toll. Chat shows "Moonwillow92 was slain by Zombie," and soon after, "Th3pooka was slain by Zombie." Up top, someone shouts that the wall has stopped. "It stopped, it stopped."
Down the waterfall
The Tab list now shows BasketMC with nine hearts, pikerize with three, xzosimusx with one and Scoti_Garbidis with five and a half. Then chat reads "pikerize fell from a high place." "We're getting a little tight on space up here," someone says. Basket pours water over the edge and waits for it to reach the street. "Three, two, one, go." Basket rides it down. As Basket reaches the bottom, chat reads "xzosimusx was shot by Scoti_Garbidis."
Basket and Scoti
That leaves two. Dropped gear lies scattered at the foot of the building, and Basket goes after Scoti_Garbidis on the open street. Scoti's nameplate reads 8 Health over a diamond sword. Lava burns on the road between them for a moment. Basket closes in with an iron sword, and chat reads "Scoti_Garbidis was slain by BasketMC."
With Scoti out, BasketMC is the only player left in the match, which makes Rooftop Raiders the last team alive. No win message shows on screen. Instead chat fills with "gg" from BasketMC, xzosimusx, Moonwillow92, TopStiGearGaming and others. "I thought for sure you had me with your fire sword," someone says.
After the match
The players who were knocked out come back into the world and gather at the foot of the high-rise. The street turns into a free-for-all, and chat soon reads "BasketMC was slain by Th3pooka," with Basket's own "You died!" screen. Everyone swaps stories about the season until the credits roll, and the video ends on a black screen.
