The episode opens on the same team cards and "Day of the Dragon" title as before, with no episode number. Then it is back underground, where Team Hungry is still camped in the ravine with almost nothing to eat. "Why can't we eat bat meat?" someone asks.
A farm in the dark
A creeper on the far side of the cave has blown up the bones the team was hoping for. What they do have is four oak saplings and a few seeds. The saplings go into dirt blocks around the camp, and the seeds go into a short strip of tilled dirt next to the water. "Time to farm!" Hunger bars sit at four. "We are gonna starve to death," someone says.
A furnace goes down and the iron goes in. Chat reports achievements for pikerize and SodaShaman, and the team mines out a vein that holds only two pieces of gold. Someone offers to make swords. The answer is to save the iron for armor.
The cave is a bust
The zombies they can hear never show up. One creeper does, and it can't be eaten. "The search for food continues." The team decides coming down was a mistake. The new plan: dig stairs back to the surface and be up there when night falls, when zombies are easier to find. Mining burns hunger too, so whoever isn't digging is told not to move. "Can we die by starvation?" "Yes." On the way up, someone checks that the iron, the gold and the seeds came along.
Thirty blocks of stairs
Most of the episode is the climb. Basket follows a teammate up a one-wide cobblestone staircase, block by block, with a hunger bar down to two. "Are we there yet?" One teammate apologizes for sprinting so much on day one. Partway up, the Tab list shows all four of Team Hungry still in, Basket at full health.
Chat has fun with the shortage. Scoti_Garbidis asks "everybody got lots of food like us?" and follows with "mmmmmm, beef." Sayulily answers "Thought you had beef ;)" and BasketMC types "jelly." rePeteD, meanwhile, earns the DIAMONDS! achievement.
Zombies at the top
The stone turns to dirt, and someone breaks through. "Cows. Oh, I'm super jealous." The team digs a small room near the top, plants the seeds and throws down bones for bone meal. It is only enough for two wheat.
Then the zombies come in. "Zombie kid! Back up, back up!" The tunnel is tight and the fight is close.
One down
Chat posts "Scoti_Garbidis was slain by Zombie." A wave of "gg" follows from around the server. Th3pooka adds "i bet scoti got pushed by basket so he would get all the glory," and BasketMC answers "lol." "Good luck guys, I'll see you later!" someone says.
The zombies are dead, though, and they drop flesh. Basket eats a piece of rotten flesh, and the hunger bar turns green from it.
The server posts "End of Day 3" and lists thirteen players. BasketMC, pikerize and SodaShaman are on it, and Scoti_Garbidis is not. The episode ends with Basket alive in the dirt tunnel at about half health.
