The episode opens with the "GopherCraft UHC 8" title and the seven team cards again, with no episode number. Then it drops straight back underground, where Episode 1 left Team Citrus Sensation, the orange team, mining near a skeleton.
Diamonds, but not here
About a minute in, chat announces that OjiiOtousan has earned the DIAMONDS! achievement. Other players pile on with "Hacker!", "HACKS" and "congrats," and BasketMC types "crazy." Team Citrus Sensation has none of its own yet. "They're getting diamonds. Not me," someone clarifies on voice. Later, rePeteGG and FriarNurgle earn the same achievement.
Iron in the ravine
The cave opens into what someone calls "one crazy-looking ravine." It has iron, gold, redstone, lapis and lava, plus skeletons, zombies and creepers. A skeleton gets walled off rather than fought. "Not worth the heart." Iron goes into a furnace as fast as it comes out of the walls, and the first iron pick follows. At one point a creeper wanders into the light of a torch right in front of Basket.
About seven minutes in, the Tab list still shows all 21 players. Gopherboy is down to about four and a half hearts. "Gopher Boy's taking a bunch."
Chat counts the first deaths
A bit past the 12 minute mark, chat reads "technascribe was blown up by Creeper," and a wall of "gg" follows from every team. Shortly after, a second line appears: "Virii333 tried to swim in lava." OjiiOtousan asks in chat, "how am i still alive?" MomofMiners leaves and rejoins the game several times in chat along the way.
Armor for the whole team
The team regroups near a row of furnaces. PsychoSFK turns up in the cave with 20 Health showing on the nameplate. Someone tosses Basket a chestplate. "Alright Basket, here's some chest piece for you." Then the iron gets split three ways. "I'm making three helmets." Someone else has already made three pairs of boots, and three iron swords come next. By the end of the episode, Basket's inventory screen shows a full set of iron armor.
Gold into apples
With natural healing off, gold is for golden apples. Someone on the team is down a heart and a half, and the plan is to wait before using any. Basket lays out eight gold ingots around an apple and crafts two golden apples. "I have two golden apples, no gold."
Spare iron from here on goes toward an anvil, "assuming we ever get diamonds."
Mining by the lava
The last stretch has Basket mining along the edge of a lava pool. The server then posts "Mark 40 Minutes, End of Episode 2" with the current players. There are 18 names on the list. technascribe, Virii333 and MomofMiners are not on it. The episode ends with Basket alive, in iron armor, mining underground.
