The Hypermine Patrons UHC put Hypermine members and their patrons into one match. Everyone starts in a pair, either with the person they are a patron of or with a fellow patron of the same creator. Pairs can team up, but only one pair can win. Episode 1 opens in a glass lobby packed with players, with the title "Hypermine Patrons UHC Season 1, Episode 1" over the crowd. Basket's partner is johnfal_92, and both names show up in orange.
One minute to go
The pairs get set up in the lobby, and then chat posts "The Game will begin in one minute." Nemsun has a plan for everyone: "YES KILL RED TEAM FIRST!!! no more whispers."
Basket and johnfal_92 land together in a forest next to a swamp.
Knocked out of a tree
The first job is wood. Basket climbs into the trees to cut logs while cows wander around underneath. Then Basket comes down the hard way, dropping out of the leaves with a cow right there. The fall costs a heart and a half. In a game where health does not come back on its own, that is a bad way to start. The pair spends the next stretch on more trees, food and cobblestone.
Dug in by sundown
The sun is going down by the time they reach a stretch of open plain. johnfal_92 walks out through the sunflowers. Then the pair digs a hole straight down into the ground and starts a tunnel with torches on the walls. A crafting table goes down, then a furnace to cook the raw meat.
The Soul Crusher wakes
While Basket works the furnace, chat turns busy. "PhanpyLove was shot by Skeleton." Then the map warns, "Soul Crusher will wake in 2 minutes!" and right after, "Nemsun was slain by Zombie." Nemsun writes, "WOW first out." Ady67 asks, "What is Soul Crusher?" voodoobeard answers: "soulcrusher is the shrinking border," then "BEWARE!" BasketMC adds, "we forgot to explain soul crusher :D."
Ady67 wants to know if the border is closing already. "not yet. 1.5 mins ish," Basket writes. Then "Gene_Splicer23 was slain by Spider," and soon after, "Soul Crusher is coming!" The deaths have pulled the wall in.
A wall of furnaces
The base keeps growing. Basket lines one wall with furnaces, cooking chicken and steak, smelting iron, and making charcoal. By the end of the episode Basket has a shield in the off hand.
By the time the Tab list comes up again, Dalcoze is also out, which makes four. The Soul Crusher warning comes back, and a second "Soul Crusher is coming!" line shows up while Basket keeps digging. Near the end, chat reads "End of day 1. Players remaining:" and lists eighteen names, BasketMC and johnfal_92 among them. Both are still in the match, underground, as the episode ends.
