Episode 2 of the Hypermine Patrons UHC picks up where the first day ended: Basket and johnfal_92 are underground, eighteen players are left, and the Soul Crusher, the server's shrinking border, is about to start moving. The title card reads "Hypermine Patrons UHC Season 1, Episode 2." It opens with a warning over voice: "there's a spider in here."
Branch mining
The plan for day 2 is simple. Dig long tunnels, light them with torches, and take every ore that shows up. Coal, redstone, iron and gold all turn up. When the Tab list comes up, the health bars tell the story of the first day. Dalcoze, Nemsun and Gene_Splicer23 have no hearts left, and The_RedGear is down to about two. "Wow, the green team is almost gone," a voice on the call says.
A skeleton is guarding a vein of gold in a side cave, and a voice on the call grumbles that it is "right where we want to go for the gold." A little later the same voice says, "I got the gold."
No congrats?
Back at the furnaces, chat warns, "Soul Crusher will wake in 2 minutes!" BasketMC earns the Time to Farm achievement and asks the server, "no congrats?" Before anyone answers, the warning turns into "Soul Crusher is coming!" Scoti_Garbidis writes "congrats," and Basket answers "thansk!" N7DeltaForce adds, "It's about time, basket >:P." WowoTabernak wants to know how far the border will move in, and Basket explains the math in chat. Dalcoze leaves the game.
Apples, lava and diamonds
Soon Basket's inventory screen shows the Absorption effect, which comes from eating a golden apple. Chat posts that SalsaDoom76 has found diamonds. Scoti_Garbidis writes "gg Salsa," and Nemsun, out since day 1, adds "gg."
The tunnels open into a cave with lava pools on the floor. Basket scoops one up, and the tooltip changes from "Bucket" to "Lava Bucket." Water and lava sit close together down here, but a voice on the call votes to skip the Nether.
Suited up
The iron keeps coming, and the furnaces keep running. By the back half of the episode, the inventory screen shows Basket in iron armor, and the johnfal_92 nameplate glows through the stone nearby. Basket's level reads 12.
Over whispers, Basket tells Scoti_Garbidis, "you're hurt!" Scoti_Garbidis explains in chat, "saw a village and ran towards into a hole," then whispers back to ask where the border is right now.
End of day 2
Chat posts "End of day 2. Players remaining:" and lists the same eighteen names as the night before, BasketMC and johnfal_92 among them. Nobody went out today. A player in full iron armor walks up the tunnel toward Basket.
The episode signs off with "What will the rest of the story be? Tune in next time." Basket and johnfal_92 are both still in the match, underground, as the episode ends.
