Episode 5 of Captive Minecraft 4 is all about making more animals. Basket and Scoti spend the day breeding the herd, coloring in a few monuments, and then digging way too far down looking for one more chest.
Making more mooshrooms
The pen is getting crowded. We had a bunch of ideas off camera about adding grass and sheep, and this episode we finally start breeding the mushroom cows in earnest. Feed two of them, get a baby, watch the border grow.
Breeding pays off fast here. We knock out the Cow Tipper achievement, and a little later the Repopulation one, and each one bumps the world border out a few more blocks. That is the whole loop in Captive Minecraft: do the thing, earn the achievement, get more room to stand in.
Coloring the monuments
With a bit more space unlocked, we go check which colored-clay monuments we can finally reach. Blue stained clay wants lapis, and you have to be standing right above the marker for it to count. Pink is red dye plus bone meal. We had actually made green already without noticing.
One at a time the markers light up and the game flashes Monument complete. Neither of us knew we even had access to some of these until we wandered over and looked.
Pigs, potions, and a very tidy base
There is a stretch here that is pure housekeeping, and honestly it is our favorite kind. Sharing is caring, so tools go in the tool chest, blocks go on the bar, and everything gets a label. As one of us put it, the best kind of Minecraft video is a guy organizing your stuff.
We also take stock of the pigs and the splash potions of healing. The pigs are off limits, no hitting them, because we are saving those for a certain flying-pig achievement down the line.
Digging down into the lava
Somebody remembers there is another chest in the dungeon below, so down we go. First we lose the staircase entirely, then we find it, then we start branching tunnels off the stairs and immediately confuse each other about who dug what. One of us wants stairs around the edge, the other keeps cutting tunnels through the middle.
Then the lava starts. Not a pool, a whole floor of it, level after level. We poke around the edges with a water bucket and a lot of nervous do not push me right now.
The loot haul at the bottom
Past a wall of iron there is a chest, and probably a spawner nearby, which is why it felt so hard to reach last time. We pull pork chops, iron, and a pile of odds and ends, including a saddle that is completely useless to us until we ever find that donkey. There is a running argument about whether the sound down there is a witch or a donkey.
We haul two chests of good stuff back up, top off on mushroom stew so nobody starves mid-dig, and call it. That is Release the B.S. for this one. More Team B.S. breeding, mining, and border-growing next episode.
