Mooshrooms and Minecarts: Captive Minecraft 4 Episode 10

  • Published on

Ten episodes into Release the B.S., and the little B.S. base has grown into a proper home. This #TeamCat run has us bouncing between a Nether mining trip, a snowy ice hunt, and a very colorful animal pen back at the base.

Back into the Nether

The episode opens deep in the red rock. We pick through netherrack and gravel with an iron pickaxe, torching corners as we go, with a lava column glowing off to the side and the odd zombie pigman wandering past. It is a quick supply run more than anything, topping up cobblestone and Nether bits before heading back home.

Chasing another achievement

This is Captive Minecraft, so the whole point is the achievement tree. We pop open the achievements screen to check what is done and what is left, green lines tracing the path from one unlock to the next. Every box ticked pushes the world border out a little further, which is the only way this Minecraft map ever gets any bigger.

Riding the rails with Scoti

The base has turned into a network of minecart lines. There is a long stretch where Scoti_Garbidis is out front on the rails, the two of us clattering down a torch-lit tunnel that connects one part of the build to another. It beats walking, and it is a good look at how far the tracks now reach.

An ice run in the snowy hills

The map has opened up into a snow biome, and it is worth a visit. Ice spikes and a frozen blue waterfall catch the light while one of us chips away at packed ice with a pickaxe. The white peaks and glassy blue make a nice change from all the netherrack, and the ice is handy to haul back.

Mooshrooms and the color stash at home

Back at base, the standout is the animal pen: red mooshrooms crowded in behind a stone wall, a couple of dyed sheep in bright yellow and pink mixed in, all lit up with torches next to the crops. Inside, the storage chests are a rainbow of stained and hardened clay in nearly every color, slowly getting sorted into place. It is the kind of tidying-up episode that makes the base feel lived in.

That is Episode 10 of Release the B.S. on the Captive Minecraft map. More Team B.S. co-op to come.
