The mansion is done, but the group isn't ready to log off. The plan is a side quest instead: head into the jungle for parrots and cats, with seeds for the parrots and fish for any ocelot. On the server with Basket, going by the nameplates: Scoti_Garbidis, JJBonsig, jcole786, Bakerbelle, LittleSpookie and sharpedge_. Basket sets the mood from the bed menu, and the chat confirms it: "BasketMC: Made it thunder and rainy." Night, rain, thunder. "It's adventure time."
Lost in the treetops
A jungle at night in a storm is mostly dark leaves, and seven players scatter fast. Half the group runs along the treetops, half on the ground, and every few minutes somebody is lost. The fix is flares: fireworks when someone has them, flaming arrows when they don't. "It's a fire arrow, you'll see it." Flaming arrows in a jungle do what you'd expect, and before long someone calls out that "the forest is on fire down there."
Coordinates get shouted back and forth, creepers turn up behind people, and a witch and some skeletons take shots from the dark. At one point the whole group spills out of the jungle onto the edge of a mesa, which is a long way from any parrot.
The ocelot
No parrots, but someone finds an ocelot, and the group stops for what turns into a very long taming attempt. Fish comes out. The ocelot hunts chickens instead. Someone gets hearts from it, then watches it run off anyway. Advice flies around: sneak toward it, don't move, don't look at it, cooked fish won't work. Frustration peaks with "All right, cat, I'm gonna murder you," answered by "That doesn't seem appropriate." The ocelot wins this round.
JJBonsig's screenshot
Asked where the parrots were, JJBonsig has a screenshot with coordinates: 1740, 690. So the group sets off across the jungle, past a ravine everyone warns everyone else about. Partway there johnfal_92 logs in, says "hello all :)" in chat, and the chat also shows "johnfal_92 has reached the goal [Sky's the Limit]." johnfal_92 hears about the two vindicators walled in at the mansion, in case anyone wants to build a farm with them. At 1740, 690 the group finds jungle, chickens, and "chicken parrots," which are just chickens. Basket sleeps the night away, and the chat shows "BasketMC: Slept until sunrise" and "BasketMC: Blew away the dark clouds." There's another cat nearby, and this time the taming works: "Scoti_Garbidis has made the advancement [Best Friends Forever]."
Reading the wiki
Somebody finally looks it up and reads it out. Parrots spawn naturally in jungle biomes, on the ground, and not within 24 blocks of a player. So a few players start clearing a patch of jungle down to grass, "a prime parrot birthing spot," while the rest back off. In full daylight, still no parrots. johnfal_92 earns "[Best Friends Forever]" in chat as well. That makes two taming advancements and zero birds. "We have failed so many times for trying to find these parrots." As someone puts it, it was only ever a side quest, "because the mansion disappointed us."
The Companions disband
On the way out, someone finds a pack of wolves at 1575, 1275 and calls out, "Anybody want dogs?" Everyone else is heading back to the portal at 1725, 120. The group splits off one at a time, and the parting line says it all: "The Companions have officially disbanded. Well met, all." The video ends on the credits, with no gameplay after them.
