Styling Iron Farm: Team B.S. Server Episode 56

  • Published on

Episode 56 is a short one, and it starts with a test. "I've finished putting in the furnaces for the area down below for the item elevator thing." Basket wants proof the Nether item transport works end to end. The plan: grab some items in the main town, throw them into a hole, then run back to the iron farm and watch for them coming up the elevator.

Wheat down a hole

Wheat it is. Basket harvests the town's fields and replants, steering clear of the iron golems, "because they'll be the angry iron golems" if one gets hit. Then the wheat goes down the hole. Basket expects to beat the items back, since they still have to work through all the hoppers and then travel through the Nether. A first look at the elevator turns up nothing, which was the guess, so Basket goes into the Nether to give them time.

On the way back through, there it is. "Oh there we go, there's wheat. It's fast." So anything dropped into that hole, or fed into that hopper system by another farm, gets delivered to the base and sorted into storage.

A tour of the base

A viewer asks what the place is, so Basket gives the tour: the iron farm, which is also sort of a slime farm and a mob farm, the paths running all through it, and the storage ring on the outside. Another player helped dig a lot of the bottom out. The beacons still sit "kind of in the wrong spot" and have to move. Down at the bottom, the path to that level comes out beside the portal where items arrive from the Nether.

Two jobs come out of the walk. Witches on the lower level "kind of cause problems," because they don't always die from the fall, so Basket thinks about raising that part up. And one path doesn't line up with the sea lantern pattern, so the plan is to shift it over a block, hoppers and all. Basket heads to storage for white glass and sea lanterns, and clears out a pile of random blocks to make room.

A water park for slimes

The slime farm is still not right. Basket watches a slime spawn and get stuck on the iron bars instead of dropping in. When it finally does fall, it swims. If it drifts over to the edge and gets under the iron bars, it dies; otherwise it doesn't. "I made a water park for slimes." The fix waits for another day.

Burning drops

Lower in the base the work is cleanup: swapping old bits for the new style and pulling out torches that aren't needed anymore. Basket also notices that the items falling through a water stream down there are probably all ending up in lava and burning. A try at getting in to save them doesn't get far with a full inventory, so the arrows get thrown out ("I don't have a bow, so I really don't need arrows"). Then white glass goes in over the gaps, and the new lights get planned along that wall.

Where are the golems?

By now some golems should have come through, and none have. Basket goes to check the golem farm. The villagers are there. On one side a water source turns out to be missing, so Basket fills it back in with a bucket. "Okay, there we go, fixed." Still no clear answer, though, so Basket looks for a way into the old part of the farm, built a long time ago, finds a passage that doesn't help, and heads around to check that the other side is working. The video ends right there, mid-search, with no credits and no answer yet.
