Episode 71 picks up at the barracks on the edge of Basket Castle. A few floors went in last time, along with the steps and some trapdoor "secret door things" that will get hooked up later. The outer walls still need trimming and the inside walls aren't in yet. Basket is alone on the server today: "it's only me right now."
The next barracks floor
The rooms are three blocks high, so Basket marks where the next level up will sit and builds the wall to that height. One spot might become a window, "something you can look out." Cracked bricks go in at random as the wall climbs, and slabs go on top. Then comes the fiddly part: working out how this taller section steps down to meet the lower one.
There are cows everywhere, all over the hill and inside the castle grounds. Basket says it was a prank, "a couple cows in my base," and they're still wandering around at the end of the episode.
A shopping run
The mossy bricks are running out, so Basket heads through the nether to the other base. A shulker box full of stone bricks comes back, plus vines from the vine wall for more mossy bricks. "Our shopping trip is done. We have extra."
A half-round tower
Back on the wall, one stretch bulges outward, so that spot gets a tower. Square or round? Basket counts it out. A tower across the way is eight blocks wide with its walls, and this spot is eleven. So the new one comes out three, then two, then two, a half circle that follows the curve of the other tower. Some mountain stone has to go, but Basket tries not to cut away too much of it. The space inside might be secret rooms someday. For now it gets torches so mobs won't spawn.
There's no plan on paper. "Freestyle, free flow," Basket says. The idea is an outer wall with buildings attached to it, a courtyard, a bigger keep in the middle, and lots of secret doors, tunnels and a sewer system.
The western wall
Next the wall runs along the cliff edge. The corner out there could be "the west tower," a scenic spot. Placeholder battlements go on top for now. Later, a crane on the far side could pull supplies up from a harbor, so nobody has to bring them through the front gate. Where two lengths of wall don't line up, a short tower might cover the difference. A huge hole in the mountain stays open for now, in case it can be part of the design.
Basket uses up a lot of stone and runs low on cracked bricks, so it's a quick trip down for a couple more stacks. On the way back up Basket points out the murder holes over the gatehouse.
Towers to come
One corner looks over the waterway and seems worth defending from up high, so its tower might be bigger, two by two. Basket counts the six blocks between each pair of torches to see where it would land. This part of the wall starts all the way down at the bottom of the slope.
To finish, Basket looks back from below and points out where everything goes: a tower here, the wall carrying on, another tower there. Two of them sit pretty close together, so one might not need to be as big. "We'll figure that out next time." The credits run to the end with no gameplay after them.
