Episode 92 opens on top of a tall stone brick building at Basket Castle, finishing a job from last time. Then Basket turns to a build that has sat empty for a while. "So let's finish off the barracks. We kind of have left that as is for a while."
The last of the cracked bricks
The cracked stone bricks are running low, but Basket stays up top while it's convenient and works wall by wall, popping cracked blocks in here and there. The torches left on one wall come down; they were only "to remind me I'm still working on this wall." A trip to the furnaces brings back more. One floor turns out wrong ("That floor's wrong"), so it gets fixed on the way up. Mossy bricks can wait. "We'll come back and add the mossy later on."
Signs in every room
Inside the barracks, Basket makes a stack of signs "so I don't forget in between the different projects." The first floor becomes the eating area, tables and all. The floors above get "beds and chests for them to store their stuff." The openings in the outer wall are for defense, "to shoot, you know, people invading the town." The wall is built thick on purpose, to hold secret tunnels and doors worked by buttons.
A secret shaft that should run all the way down only drops into one room. Basket rethinks it on the spot. "Is there a reason to have two pillars going up? Perhaps not." One pillar goes, which opens up room for bunks. New stairs head down to a basement for storage or a kitchen, and the dirt down there gets cleared out with Haste from a nearby beacon.
Birch floors
Floors in the keep are birch, so the barracks gets birch too: birch slabs over most of each floor, with the outer three blocks kept as stone. Chests go down to hold the blocks coming up. For the bunks, Basket thinks about blue beds "as sort of a contrast," or maybe white.
While laying slabs, Basket talks about Minecraft 1.13's water changes. The plan is a sewer under the roads with grates, so the open question is whether water will pass through iron bars.
Tables and fireplaces
To fit a second pillar matching the first, the staircase gets pulled out and wrapped around the side. Birch slab placeholders mark long tables with two spaces between them and chairs along the sides. "We'll decorate it later and maybe redo the entire table." When a viewer suggests the tables use a different wood from the floor, Basket agrees.
Then comes heat. A chimney runs up through the floors, with a small fireplace by the bunks and a larger one in the eating hall. Fire spread is on for the server right now, though Basket might change that. Basket notices something else about it: "My first fireplace in the entire build, there's no secret door behind it."
Up to the top
Night falls, and a few zombies turn up downstairs. Basket copies the floor plan upward and fills in the next walls, leaving the arrow slits and cracked bricks for later. The floor after that is "potentially going to be the top," with one raised section at the back by the stairs and room up there for "ballistas or catapults or something." Stone or wood for the top is still undecided. Basket pulls up pictures of real castles from above to look for an answer, but the stream runs out of time first. The credits run to the end with no gameplay after them.
