Basket Castle Royal Tower: Team B.S. Server Episode 107

  • Published on

Episode 107 picks up right where the last one stopped, at the royal tower with its new face on the wall. Basket still can't get over the mossy problem: "You can't make mossy cobble slabs or stairs. I was unaware of that." So the "weird little face" stays as it is for now, and might move higher up once it's final. Basket is the only player in the game; the server list shows 0/20 at login, and the in-game chat only ever shows Basket's own sleep and weather lines and the server's save messages.

A roof, and then the same roof lower

The tower's shape changed, so the roof has to change with it. With the secret door moved down below, the top can be "kind of flat around the whole thing." Up there Basket hits a choice that hadn't come up before: a regular roof, or battlements with stairs up so people could stand on top for the view. The regular roof is the easiest change, so that goes first in dark oak stairs, with a couple of torches inside because a creeper blew up before.

From far away it looks good, but the ceiling is higher than the room needs. Basket decides to drop the whole roof by one block, which means "rebuilding the entire roof again." The old stairs come off the royal bedroom, the new layers go on, and Basket comes up two stairs short and crafts more. One downside: nothing on the roof is lit, so it won't stand out at night. The flat part on top gets four glass blocks from storage as a skylight.

Battlements by the tower

Next come the battlements on either side. Basket works out where the openings you'd stand in should go, adds water drains, and closes up the middle when it looks "too open." A check from outside and from down below says it works, so the same design goes on the other side.

Support pillars down the tower wall are harder. The windows can't shift over much because secret doors and tunnels run through there, and with so many windows that wall "might be fine the way it is." One floor's windows have their stairs the opposite way from every other floor, so Basket swaps them on that bedroom floor to match.

The back wall

The big hole in the back of the keep waits for a proper window design. Basket grabs the shulker boxes from upstairs so the supplies aren't stuck in the keep, then heads to the long back wall, where a big tower will go someday. It gets the same battlement pattern as the rest of the walls: water drain stairs every three blocks, slabs to stand on, and cobblestone wall pillars running down the face "that help support the structure." The stairs get flipped partway through to leave room for the lights that sit on the pillars, and one pillar lines up with a hole in the wall, so the hole moves.

Working outside the protected area brings trouble. A creeper shows up, Basket digs out a bow and arrows, and afterward says, "survived."

The torches below mark a road, so buildings could go back here one day. The wall still needs windows, maybe one row, and armor stands might stand in for archers. "I like it." The credits run to the end with no gameplay after them.
