Basket Castle Northeast Tower: Team B.S. Server Episode 113

  • Published on

The title card reads "Basket Castle North East Tower." Last time ended with the new hallway and its windows, so this time it's on to "that tower over there." Basket starts alone, and partway in the in-game chat shows "johnfal_92 joined the game." The lighting is still a mess of random torches, which Basket says will get fixed later.

Where the floors go

The tower is going up higher, and two levels from the side already have windows at a set height, so the floors should probably line up with them. Basket lays birch slabs in to get a feel for the height and finds it's only one block off. The plan is three blocks and a half per floor, with slabs above. None of the floors get built yet, just markers for where they'll go, since some rooms might be bigger and look down from a balcony, maybe over a larger eating area.

The top floor is big enough for one of the small roofs like the one at the barracks, with a skylight that could light the whole tower.

How tall

After a run for more smooth stone, the walls go up. Basket talks through the coming update's water changes, asking whether water goes through signs. Signs still work, and if they can be waterlogged, that "might be something I'd consider doing at the iron farm base" so the signs by the chests could stay.

Then it's down the hill for a look. "I think matching the height of the other one is good." From the other side there's an extra little indentation, so Basket squares it off, digs out part of the old wall that is now inside the tower, and uses those blocks on the new wall. The view from up there takes in where a harbor and "some village" will go.

Battlements on top

The top gets a stone layer and torches so mobs don't show up. A larger meeting room might take two floors near the top, under the skylight. Then come the battlements, and the tower isn't square: one side counts five between spots, the other four. Basket scoots one in, so one side has two between instead of the usual three. A spot over a door gets no pillar, one stretch gets a double drain, and then the slabs, the stairs and torches on top go in.

Columns all the way down

The support columns are cobblestone wall, three apart, starting at the corner and running "all the way up to the top." The tower is very tall, so this takes a lot of cobblestone, ender pearls to get back up, and food "in case we jump down again so we don't die." One column ends up beside another, so Basket removes the old one, leaving "this extra little pocket." Another would block the door, so the doorway shifts over one and becomes a larger opening, with a column that will change somehow where the door is.

From far away, "I like it." Windows still have to go in. Basket starts swapping cobblestone for birch to lay the floors around the edge, then notices the time and the video ends.
