Episode 122 is all planning. Basket has been laying out streets and building plots around Basketopia, but the side by the water can't be finished until the city walls have a place. So the job today is to plot them, as a line of stone bricks around the edge of the city. johnfal_92 is on the server too.
Two harbors
Before starting, Basket shows a spot that is probably going to be a second harbor. The main harbor will be somewhere else, with a main road running past it, "not necessarily Royal, but like, you know, a higher class." This one would be "more like the fishing fishermen, you know, like the people's harbor."
A gatehouse and a sewer outlet
The first piece is a gatehouse where the road heads out toward the farming island. Its opening will be three wide. The wall itself will be three wide inside, with battlements on the outside and a cobblestone fence along the back. Basket lays the outside edge first and adds the inside line after.
Where the wall meets a flat cliff face over the water, Basket picks a spot for the sewers to empty out. It isn't a harbor, so nobody will be going into the water there.
A bridge, a tower and a chain
On the other side, the road will cross a bridge to a gatehouse that should be "fairly easy to defend." The land past it will be outside the walls, maybe with a lighthouse. Basket checks the hill next to it and finds a cliff face on that side, so the wall won't need to go over the top.
Because there's a harbor here, a small tower goes on the point. Basket builds the outline over the water so the water won't need resetting if plans change. Some places had a chain in the water that could be pulled up "to stop boats from getting in, or make it harder at least," and Basket wants one here. A tree standing in the middle of the wall line has to go. When johnfal_92 types "rip it out just a placeholder" in chat, Basket agrees that most of this is placeholders. Even the building corners set out earlier are bone blocks for now.
Taking down a hill
Inside the next stretch is a big hill. Basket clears the trees and cuts the hill down to roughly level, which leaves room for side roads, alleys and houses, and a tower where the wall turns. The space inside the wall can hold buildings right up against it, and "I could use that for secret tunnel space or whatever." A market comes up too, but probably on a big flat area on the other side. Basket thanks "John" for "collecting all the garbage that I'm leaving on the ground," and johnfal_92 reports a "ghost block" in chat.
A diagonal stretch turns out five blocks thick. "Is that too thick of a wall on a diagonal?" Basket decides it isn't. One building plotted earlier still fits, with an alley behind it and room for doors on the road side.
Steps of three
From there the wall steps over three blocks at a time, which Basket thinks will work better for the wall plans. Asked what style the castle is, Basket says it isn't based on one real castle; some came from pictures online and some was worked out on stream. A viewer remembers the word Basket was looking for: merlons.
Near the end the wall curves around a rise that gets a tower, "maybe lighthouse," at a pass by the future farming town. Its top is five blocks across, the same width as the walls. Past it will be a big quarry, made to look like stone is being mined out, which is where Basket will probably keep stone. Basket also explains the server's command blocks: one so Endermen carry invisible blocks instead of base blocks, and one that skips the night.
The last section is a test of the counting. "In theory this will line up perfectly with the thing we..." It does. The rest of the wall waits for another day, and the credits run to the end with no gameplay after them.
