Episode 12 ended with five jugs sorted by ear and a door that would not open. This video starts back at the chart on the wall, turns up a sixth jug, and finally gets the tune right. The door opens onto the Gardens, where every herb has been dried out on purpose and a recipe hints at how to bring them back. It ends with Basket heading off to gather ingredients.
Back at the wall
The chart is a set of horizontal lines with a zigzag joining dots across them. The commentary reads it as a tune: "middle, up, and then way down, way up, highest one, and then lower down than the first two." Back at the table with the fire bowl, the jugs get compared two and three at a time and shuffled from stand to stand.
A sixth jug
Then the count stops adding up. There are six lines on the wall and only five with dots, "so one of these jugs we're not going to use." A sixth jug, pear-shaped, turns up near a bench of clay pots. "There's another jug. Okay, good. I'm glad that I didn't have to look it up." The commentary settles on dropping the third highest, the skinny one, and putting the new jug first.
The door opens
The new order goes in and the jugs are played. The round door beside the table swings open. "That didn't take long at all." Past it, the screen shows Area Discovered: Gardens.
The Gardens
A valve with a red wheel does something to the water ("we turn on the water?"), and a little farther on the commentary decides it is "watering all the plants." A door with striped panels stays shut. On a pot marked with a gear, a scroll opens in the inventory: a handwritten ingredient twice, four colored powders, and a drawing of a gray feather above an arrow pointing to a green leaf. The commentary reads it as a way "to turn a dead leaf into a living leaf." Something gets poured into a pot by mistake ("I just put a bunch of junk in there"), and then there is a key.
A letter on a bench explains the dry plants: "they can not wither naturally here so I had to weaken them myself. It was necessary in order to force you to follow the path I've laid out for you." To go on, "it is essential to find a way to revitalise these herbs."
Where it ends
Basket looks over a grinder on the bench and an easel with paints and a painting of a small island. Back at the scroll, the commentary counts what the recipe needs: "We need two of those. So let's run all the way over here." The video ends on a walkway between two lit lamps, with the recipe not made yet.
