The title card reads "Minecraft Aftermath Let's Play S1E03 with BasketMC." Things at the safe house are going fine. Monsters keep spawning nearby and wandering down to Basket, which has turned the spot into "sort of a makeshift monster spawner," a way to "take their goodies with low risk or no risk." That trade has paid out a bow and some bones, the wheat farm is bigger, and there's a good stack of cookies. What's missing is a bed. "I want to build a bed so that way if I die, I get back to my hidey hole."
Out at dawn
Basket heads out through the jungle with an iron sword in hand. Down by the water there's sugarcane, and signs that "somebody died right there." Basket only takes the tops, "in case it's somebody's farm," then grabs cactus and sand. Nearby sits "somebody's cobble structure" with a creeper blast in it. "Might be abandoned."
What Basket really wants is sheep for wool, and there are none. Even the trees disappoint: "Yeah, that's birch. Darn." So the plan changes. "Could wander into town and see if I can steal a bed from in there."
A flooded building
Basket swims to one of the city buildings and gets in through the bottom. The ground floor is underwater, with an empty chest. "It's actually like flooded, flooded. I like it." Upstairs is better. "Oh, lots of wool. That's what we want." Books too, "in case we ever do end up enchanting."
Basket takes a shortcut out with four wool and "enough books for a bunch of bookcases if we happen to get diamonds." The trip back to base is cut from the video on purpose, "in case anybody wants to get in."
Hiding the bed
At the safe house Basket plants a small sugarcane farm, adds a cactus corner and builds an infinite water spring with the bucket. Then comes the bed, made from jungle planks and the wool. Basket doesn't leave it out in the open. "In case somebody does come in here and they ransack the place and they mess up my spawn, I'm actually going to hide the bed."
The hidden cubby gets the bed and a chest of backup supplies, so a death doesn't mean starting from nothing. Basket lies down, and the chat confirms it: "Bed spawn set!"
Bats and other people's torches
There's one more change on the way down: "zombies kept on breaking down my door. So I put up some extra protection." Down in the dark, Basket learns something new: "Oh, bat's attack." It sticks. "I can't believe the bats attack."
The caves below have company, or had it. "That is somebody else's torch." Whoever it was left iron in the walls, which Basket takes. "If somebody was around here, I don't understand why they wouldn't collect the iron." Further on: "Oh, ah, a mineshaft." Basket doesn't trust it. "Guarantee I'm going to get lost."
Thinking about PVP
The chat keeps showing other players dying, and some of it is player against player: "Someone killed BenMawhinney with Diamond Sword!" Basket notices. "Looking at all of those PVP deaths, I'm certain to think that some people take the PVP aspect of the server seriously."
Basket heads home, puts the iron in the furnace and makes a plan: torches, then "better armor so I have a better chance of surviving." The end card runs to the close of the video, with no gameplay after it.
