Raiding the Hospital: Aftermath S2 Episode 12

  • Published on

The video opens on a card that reads "Aftermath VOD 2016-07-13, Raiding the Hospital." It's the fourth part of the same evening stream on the snowy map, and it starts right where the last part stopped: at the front of the gray hospital, under the red cross. Basket still has the wooden sword, and Runwyld is standing in the doorway.

Loot in the wards

Inside, the hospital is all white walls and empty halls. "I don't think anyone's raided this place," someone on the call says. The chests pay off fast. Basket finds cookies and a Block of Quartz, then "a really cool pickaxe and a cool sword." Both are diamond. Someone on the call warns that there's "a zombie spawner in this next room," and soon after the call is shouting "it's a horde."

Food is still the worry. Basket is carrying a Glistering Melon, and the call shoots down any idea of eating it: "you can only use them for potions." Asked what Basket thinks of this map so far, Basket says "It's tough. There's not very much food."

Eaten in a ward

A few seconds later, in a ward full of red beds, the chat reads "A Zombie ate BasketMC's brain!" This time the bed back at the base pays off: "[Bed] Good Morning! Your spawn will again be ready in 1 minute." Basket wakes up in the brick building. "Oh, my bed is set. I forgot about that." The problem is that all the new gear is lying in the hospital.

Back for the gear

So Basket crosses the snow again and heads back in. The chat logs "A Zombie ate DrMarko9's brain!" on the way. The spawner is real, and a zombie walks right out past it.

Deeper in, a grave sign stands beside a chest: "[RIP] 13. Jul. cause of death: Slain by Horde." Basket opens the chest and loads up.

Food is the mission

Back at the base, Basket rides the water channel up the side of the building and digs through the large chests. There's an enchanted book of Feather Falling II, and a diamond sword again. The Tab list now shows eleven in PvP: Lord_Kaos, The_RedGear, Runwyld, BasketMC, Nemsun, DrMarko9, Wolfstorm, technascribe, Zombiphobia, narcolepticfox and greightsects. Someone on the call puts the goal plainly: "We need to find some replenishing food supply. That is the mission."

One chest holds something useful for that. Its tooltip reads "Appetite Suppressant," which "Cures the increased hunger from infections." The call explains these cocoa beans help with hunger, but "just the magical ones."

Meanwhile the chat keeps counting. "A Zombie ate Nemsun's brain!" "greightsects fell to the hunger of the horde." "Wolfstorm took a short step off a tall ledge," then "fell to the hunger of the horde." "DrMarko9 was warmed for the rest of their life." And "A new survivor, Gibuska, has joined the wasteland."

A full house

Someone on the call passes on a rule: if you log out in PvP combat, "it'll kill you." Basket then leaves the server briefly and comes back in through the lobby. After that, narcolepticfox types "hi Basket im a big fan" in chat, and Basket says hi back. Nemsun, Runwyld and Wolfstorm crowd into the bedroom, and a cake ends up on a block by the bed.

The call has a word about the newcomer: "Nark's a regular on Aftermath," and whether that's good news "depends on if you're on Nark's good side or bad side. So we might all die in a second." The video stops there, and the credits run to the end with no gameplay after them. The stream picks up in the next part.
