The video opens on a card that reads "Aftermath VOD 2016-07-13, We've Got History." It's the fifth part of the same evening stream on the snowy map, and it starts right where the last part stopped: in the brick bedroom of the base, with Runwyld at the door and narcolepticfox on the server. The call is still nervous about that. "Narc is deadly," someone says. "Grab your stuff and run."
A tense hello
Nothing bad happens, at least not right away. Wolfstorm types "We cool?" in chat. Then "A new survivor, Scoti_Garbidis, has joined the wasteland," and Basket types "scoti." Nemsun waves, and 17Peppers joins a bit later.
The Tab list shows nine on PvP: Nemsun, BasketMC, greightsects, technascribe, Scoti_Garbidis, Runwyld, Lord_Kaos, narcolepticfox and Wolfstorm. Someone on the call points out the other modes listed there too: "a sky block you can play, there's a classic and then the creative."
The history
The episode's title comes from the call. When someone suggests typing "why so serious" at narcolepticfox, someone else says "I got history with that guy." The story is that "somebody released three withers in our base when we were offline." Then comes the backpedal: "That wasn't Narko. I shouldn't say that."
Meanwhile a new kind of mob is shooting people outside. The call can't remember the name until someone gets it: "it is called a stray."
The chat stays busy. "Nemsun slipped from a ledge." Wolfstorm types "Narc there is your sacrafice" and "Find Nems Stuff." Basket greets the new arrival with "heyas 17 peppers," and soon after "17Peppers just got diced up with Diamond Sword," then "is now one with the pavement." "narcolepticfox just got diced up with Diamond Sword" too. The chat never says who held either sword. "If you are watching, it was not us," the call says, just in case.
A full hunger bar the hard way
Basket takes the water shaft down to look at the lower floors, then comes back up to the bedroom. Food is still the problem: the hunger bar is down to about half, health is down to four hearts, and there's nothing to eat. The plan on the call is blunt: put the gear in a chest and die, because "we have no food." The chat logs it: "BasketMC is now one with the pavement." Then the bed does its job again. "[Bed] Good Morning! Your spawn will again be ready in 1 minute." Basket wakes with a full hunger bar and picks the diamond sword and pickaxe back up.
Back to the hospital
"I want to go back to the hospital and loot more of that place." Basket rides the water down the outside of the building and crosses the snow to the red cross. Inside, a chest gives up a Raw Chicken. "It's pretty exciting." Runwyld comes along with a glowing enchanted sword.
There's "a spawner on this floor," so Basket heads up. A creeper waits at the end of a white hallway.
Out on a ledge
The chat keeps counting. "Scoti_Garbidis just got diced up with Diamond Sword." "Wolfstorm's corpse has joined the horde." Lord_Kaos, The_RedGear and Runwyld all fall "to the hunger of the horde."
Basket ends up out on a high gray ledge with spiders and zombies on the snow below. "I gotta retreat," and "I need blocks." Basket digs a way out with the pickaxe and walks off down a snowy street. The video stops there, and the credits run to the end with no gameplay after them. The stream picks up in the next part.
