This episode runs about 43 minutes and opens on a card reading "Episode 71" and "Raise the Roof." The job is right there in the title: Basket starts putting the glass roof on the Basket Station mall. Basket is the only player on screen.
Supplies and a way up
It's night when the stream starts. Basket grabs a spare Silk Touch pick, five stacks of sea lanterns, and whatever glass the furnaces have finished, though some of them are low on fuel. Up on the mall's upper floor, a temporary ladder tower goes up to the top of the arc, with a chest at the top for supplies. The pattern from last time holds: six blocks of glass, then a sea lantern, all the way across.
Clear, white or light blue
Basket isn't sure what glass to use, so the top flat part becomes a test. One strip goes in as regular glass, the next as white stained glass that was already made. On the way across, Basket slips and falls ("Oh god. That's unfortunate."), then climbs back up more carefully. Then a third idea: light blue. That means checking the lapis supply and crafting two stacks of light blue glass.
Basket compares the three from below, from outside, and at night. Light blue looks to Basket like it's "getting its color from the sky," and at night "it's almost like not even there." A viewer votes for the sky color too, and that settles it. The test strips come out with the Silk Touch pick, and the clear glass may end up in a big window somewhere else.
Counting to fourteen
The roof is 14 blocks across, so Basket counts out exactly 13 panes in the inventory (one is already placed) and lays a strip without having to count on screen. Then it's strip after strip of light blue between the sea lanterns, with more trips down to smelt glass.
Rain rolls in partway through. Basket's weather command only works standing on a bed, and Basket doubts a bed will sit on lanterns or glass, so the clear weather takes a little setting up before the work goes on.
The top layer is done
By about 36 minutes the whole top layer is in. "I'm glad that I didn't end up going... I was going to go with clear." Basket starts the next layer down, counting six and a lantern again and nearly falling off the edge once more.
What's left
Looking up from the floor, the arc is starting to show. "At night you can hardly even see the glass." Once the roof is finished, including the insides of the arches, Basket figures the mall is ready for people to move in. The entrances still need fixing first: they don't work yet, and they need the trick that keeps zombies from coming up.
After that come the small rail stations. Basket wants to improve the design first, because the working one was put together on the fly and has spots that are far too compact. Building another starts with digging a deep hole all the way to bedrock. Next time: more of the roof. The credits run to the end with no gameplay after them.
