Ward: Let's Play Minecraft Hardcore S2 Episode 22

This is the last episode of the series. Basket sets out to find a village and some endermen, finds a jungle temple instead, relights the base with glowstone, and comes home with enough ender pearls to craft 28 Eyes of Ender.

A sword for endermen

First, a new sword. Basket calls it the "Ender Ender," and the tooltip reads Sharpness V, Looting II and Unbreaking III. Unlike Sharpie, it has no Knockback and no Fire Aspect, "because that's not very useful when trying to kill Enderman."

The plan is to explore the hills with a stack of Speed II potions. Basket runs through extreme hills, jungle, snow, desert and swamp. "Still haven't found a village on this map yet, which is kind of surprising." One idea is to build a village from scratch by curing zombie villagers with a potion of weakness and a golden apple, then breeding them. "We may do that still."

Along the way Basket mentions playing another hardcore challenge series, one where you can't kill animals. Night falls, then the rain starts, and Basket admits, "I'm sort of lost."

A jungle temple

The big loop finds nothing, so most of it is cut. Coming ashore, Basket kills an enderman with the new sword off camera ("I forgot to start the recording") and gets two ender pearls. Then a jungle temple appears, the first one Basket has explored.

Basket knows about the traps going in: tripwires hooked to dispensers that shoot arrows. Breaking a tripwire sets the trap off anyway: "when you break a tripwire, I forgot, triggers it." Basket doesn't know the lever combination either, so: "We'll just cheat." The chests hold gold and some iron, "no diamonds or anything." The helmet is also "about to break."

Lava and glowstone

Back home, lava now pours down through the main stone brick room. Basket built it earlier, but that recording lost its audio, so this part was shot afterward to show it off. The torches come out and glowstone goes in. Basket checks the light level, since monsters spawn at 7 or below, and adds more glowstone until it reads at least 8. "Yeah, looks like we're good."

Enderman hunting in the rain

When the rain comes, Basket heads into the desert, where the endermen gather. The trick is to "attack the feet so they don't teleport away." Creepers, skeletons and zombies crowd in too, "a creeper skelly party," and the helmet finally gives out ("oh my helmet broke"). In the middle of it all a music disc drops. "Heck yeah. I got a record."

Basket's pearl count climbs to "ten already," then 13, then a full stack of 16. The goal is two stacks, "so 10 more and then I'm good."

Ward and the eyes

Back at the base, Basket adds the pearls brought over from "the other base," crafts a jukebox with one diamond, and drops the disc in. The screen reads "Now playing: C418 - ward." "It's not my favorite, but it's the only disc we have."

A new diamond helmet replaces the broken one. Then the blaze rods come out of storage, and the pearls and blaze powder become Eyes of Ender. The inventory shows 28.

The plan for next time: some branch mining, repair and enchant the gear, then head out with the eyes to find the End portal "and maybe explore the stronghold a little bit. Hopefully it's not too far away." The episode ends with Basket alive in the base.
