Part 5 is pressure plate time. The gate at the end of the Halls needs three players standing on three hidden plates at once, and the party is still Basket, johnfal_92 and Dash (dash10138), going by the nameplates and chat. Scoti isn't on. Somebody also has to leave soon, so there's no time to waste. "Are we doing the plates now? I need to go soon."
Who takes which plate
The hard part is remembering where the plates are. One is the plate from yesterday. Dash heads for one way up at the top. The third is somewhere off the main hallway, maybe. "Okay, I might be confused." Someone finally places it: second floor, to the right of the entry. Getting there takes a little parkour.
Basket's plate is in the long hall with lava on both sides. Nothing tells them it worked. "It doesn't notify you, we need to assume it's done." While they wait, there's talk about the rest of the week. The hope is to get the white wool done tomorrow and Friday, if everyone can find the time.
Through the door
The plates open a door they've already seen, the one where some of the party died before, next to a big mob they never killed. On the way they pass back through the room where a trap went off last time. "Yeah, that's not very safe. I might go around that next time." The big mob does spawn, it turns out, just on the outside, and it drops down into a pit with a snake in it.
Past that the terrain changes, and there's a sign. Beneath the platform, a device of the wind lies dormant. A brave warrior could climb the cliffs alone, but a smart warrior will find the statues of the Hawks to turn on the winds and ride them up. Dash sums it up in a whisper.
There's a lower area with a bedrock door and some unopened chests. Two of them had already been down there the day before, and they leave the chests for a trip with luck helmets on.
Burnt to a crisp
The next stretch is archers, a jaguar spawner and some water. Then something big shows up. "I'm in trouble. I'm going to fall back." Basket doesn't make it. The chat line reads: BasketMC was burnt to a crisp whilst fighting Serpensia Lord. "Okay, well luckily I just died right there. That's fine." Basket rearranges the inventory and comes back, and the spawner goes down.
Creepers from the sky
Up the hill, creeper spawners sit on the ledges and in the ceiling, so creepers keep falling on them. One of them goes into what they call "full retreat mode" for a bit. They block up one spawner, torch another, and pick off the ranged mobs. One more chest has gravel around it instead of diorite, so it goes on the list of traps to disarm later.
The first Hawk Statue
Then there's a button that looks like a statue. They press it, and the message comes up: the first Hawk Statue has been activated. Creepers interrupt the celebration, but it's done. One statue down, one to go.
