Pyromania has been sitting in Basket's quest log for a long time. Carbocius wants magma samples, and back in Episode 51 the log showed it at 2/3. This time there's a group for it: JJBonsig, WonderSim and dash10138. The plan is to visit all three sample spots so everyone who needs one gets one, starting with the volcano near Highwatch because it's closest.
Sneaking across the volcano
The volcano floor is magma blocks, and the tip going around is that sneaking the whole way stops the burn damage. Fall damage still counts. Archers shoot down from the hill, and someone keeps falling behind because sneaking is slow. A scared yell over lava turns out to be nothing, just a noise that sounds a lot like "I'm about to die."
There are event flowers in here too, which someone says are hard to get. Nobody is sure how many the event needs.
Down at the bottom, a chest holds the sample. It's a Basaltic Magma, marked as a quest item. Another chest has a pair of leggings called the Infernal Robe, uncommon, with Fire Protection III.
The Molten Chasm
The next one is a long walk past burnt trees, and the game announces a new area: the Molten Chasm. It's a big hole full of wooden bridges, broken ladders and blazes. "Blazes on a wooden bridge. Sounds like a great idea."
WonderSim drops to 3 health, and then chat reads "WonderSim was slain by Blazing Stalker." Someone puts WonderSim's things in a chest right where they died, and the broken ladder gets patched so everyone can climb down to it.
After that the group takes it slower. The creeper spawner goes down, then a blaze spawner out by the bridge, then another one. "Good job team." Getting to the sample means breaking the blocks above its chest, and the sample comes out.
The worst place in the world
"One more spot to go." The third one gets called the worst place in the world. It's a cave in layers, with bridges back and forth over lava, and you finish each layer before you cross down. On the way, someone's pickaxe is running low and someone else hands over a spare from a chest.
Somebody has already been through. A chest is empty, a bad guy is left over, and the place resets in about 15 minutes. Creepers in the roof make the bottom area rough, but the spawners come down and the quest item gets handed out. "So much easier with multiple people." That's the idea behind doing guild runs of quests.
Back to Carbocius
Then it's the walk back to Farr. Chat asks Basket about their most hated game, and Basket can't come up with one. Basket is excited and a little nervous about the next Minecraft update. It might mean resetting a world, but it's supposed to get rid of ghost blocks.
Carbocius turns out to be right under the Herald. Chat reads "Pyromania Complete! Awarded 128 Enchanting Bottles, Geomantic Dagger, and 1 Prestige."
The dagger is a unique item with Sharpness II, Smite II and Unbreaking V. Basket's verdict is quick: "I will sell it."
