Last time Scoti died in the silverfish pit, and Scoti's gear stayed at the bottom. This episode starts with a trip back down to get it. The deaths sidebar opens at Scoti_Garbidis 40 and BasketMC 32.
Back to the pit
"It's easy when you're going down into it," one of them says of the twisting route, "but then when you're trying to get back up, that's when it's kind of confusing." At the pit, Basket has a Potion of Vulnerability in hand. "Can we hit them with a potion? Do you have one of those nasty potions?" Basket throws it, and green particles burst over the silverfish at the bottom. The doubts come right after: "I think it even gives them resistance. So it would be worse." A tooltip later in the episode backs that up. The potion gives Weakness III and Resistance.
Then the bad news, in their words: "Your stuff despawned anyway." "We took too long."
Burning Splinter
They push on through the wooden rooms past the pit. Past a spawner in the leaves, a chest holds an emerald, Splash Potions of Healing, and a sword called Burning Splinter: Smite II, Fire Aspect III, Knockback III and Unbreaking II, marked "Powerful Magic Item." "And an emerald. Oh, good lord!" They talk it over: "Or should we leave the emerald here for now?" "Yeah."
The valley of spawners
From the next ledge they look down into a mushroom-covered jungle valley with spawners on both sides. One of them lays out a plan: "Instead of hopping into the middle of a valley with spawners on both sides, we should head over here first on this side. Drop down, take out the spawner." "Oh my god, there's a lot of creepers." Then fire. "Oh, I'm on fire! Oh, magic bow fire!" Chat reads "Scoti_Garbidis was burnt to a crisp whilst fighting Skeleton," with a skeleton standing over a pool of lava, and the sidebar ticks to Scoti_Garbidis 41.
The verdict afterward: "I went from pretty good life to no life because I was trapped on that hillside." The gear gets sorted out by voice: "I picked up your sword." "I threw all your stuff back on the ground."
Spawners in the trees
Deeper in the mushroom cave, the spawners sit in odd places. "There's a spider spawner that's on the top of the tree there." A small zombie with the name tag Zombieling comes at them through the dark. "They spawn with different buffs," one of them says. "This one's invisible." In a chest down here Basket finds Chain Leggings and another Potion of Vulnerability, whose tooltip spells it out: "A potion that weakens enemies and drastically lowers their resistance."
Calling it
They clear the spawners they can find and stop there. "So I died, I died a lot again, guys." The reply: "Why don't you try dying a little bit? I'm tired of being the guy that has to die to keep this exciting."
