Before they go anywhere, Basket spots a single block of cobblestone in Intersection 2 that doesn't look like it belongs. Scoti didn't put it there. "Why would you assume that I was digging holes and filling them back in?" The death counter opens at Scoti 35, Basket 32. From the three choices at the intersection, they pick Little Mines, the area for the Lime Crystal.
The kingdom of the mighty dwarves
Little Mines is dark, with rails everywhere and a pool of something blue below that might be water and might be lapis. A sign sets the tone: "Behold, you have entered the kingdom of the mighty dwarves. We are strong, we are fearless and we are proud. Do not call us gnomes or goblins just because we are green." Somewhere off to the side, a minecart hops off one rail and lands on another.
Something jumps them near a little cave, loud enough to earn an apology to anyone wearing headphones. They light up and break a spawner, and the miners here take three hits each. There's gold ore in the walls, but it needs an iron pick, so it waits. Around one corner is a creeper cave: "Oh, so many creepers in here."
Mushroom houses
The dwarves live in giant mushrooms. "You're gonna get athlete's foot." Inside one is a crowd of them, and some are "potion heads" that throw potions. One of them steps in a puddle of the stuff to see what it does, and it's hunger and nausea. "I had to do science. And now I'm gonna throw up."
The miners keep coming, and the likely source is a cart riding the rail around the building on bedrock. "It's spawning in miners. I'm killing this minecart." Another spawner turns up under a wooden pillar, which might be a pattern for this area.
The loot is good. There's TNT, golden apples, a Heavy Battleaxe, and a Dwarven Mining Uniform helmet with Protection III, Unbreaking IV and +10% max health. "My helmet gives me an extra heart." The furnaces are empty ("What cheapskates"), but now they have an iron pickaxe for that gold.
Emeralds, lapis and a chest that isn't a trap
Down a slope they spot an emerald, plus lapis blocks. A chest sits right where a trap would go. "This is such a trap." Whoever did the last trap passes this one to the other to disarm. Nothing goes off. Inside, by the read-out, are cookies and a lucky pickaxe with Fortune V.
Past that is a spider hallway with spawners at both ends. One of them gets the idea to throw TNT up at a spawner, then worries it's "awful close to the emerald." Something keeps shooting at them, one mob turns out to be "just hanging out" way up high, and they work through the spawners one at a time.
The gargantula
For the valley they try a "rush in together" moment. It's a spider nest, and the big spider isn't a tarantula, it's a "gargantula." "Not a tarantula, a gargantula." Its spawners are in the trees. One sword is about to break, and a chest later gives up a Bane of Arthropods sword, which fits.
The last chest of the episode has Fortune books and a potion called Dwarven Battlebrew: Strength, Fire Resistance and Haste III for four minutes, +130% attack damage, and fifteen seconds of Nausea.
A miner on a cart is still chasing them at the end, and gets named "employee of the month." Nobody died. The counter closes at Scoti 35, Basket 32, with the monument at 5 of 16 crystals and 3 of 12 emerald blocks.
