The celebration they promised comes first. Then they head into Forlorn Legacy, a village at night where nearly every house is a trap and every chest is a surprise.
Time to celebrate
They have just noticed the monument has spots for a coal block and a redstone block, so those go in. One of them hands the other the honor of placing the green wool, my friend. Emerald 16 goes into the chest, and a piece of stained glass they did not have yet goes in its right spot. Dude, so much celebrating going on right now. Look at all the progress. Beat the game.
What next? Not purple. Yellow, because that is the next difficulty level by the emeralds. The wool monuments are laid out in rainbow order, which explains why pink and magenta sit way over there. Nobody knows where yellow is yet.
A word from our sponsors
On the way into Forlorn Legacy they break up the regular schedule of CTM for a message from their sponsors. Tired of filling all your loot chests by hand? Try loot tables. Easy to use, a time saver, and only four dollars and twenty cents.
Through a tunnel choked with cobwebs there is a village up top. The plan is to go slow, since the mobs here may be tough for their gear, light the outsides of the buildings and come back. Arrows: about forty.
Speed boots and a bed
A chest labeled a little faster gives them running boots with Unbreaking and plus twenty percent speed. They are gold, so they will not last, but one of them wears them anyway and puts his Mending boots in the ender chest. A bed gets moved up to reset their spawn here. Someone's gold pickaxe is about to break. Someone's axe, the cool one that sets things on fire, is doing fine.
From higher up they spot where the wool probably is: a big castle at the far end of the area, maybe 450 or 500 blocks away. You only see it with the render distance turned all the way up. One glass thing far to the right, which is certainly that.
Every house is a trap
The houses are full of creepers, mostly. Creeper spawners hide under the stairs, and there is lava under the half slabs in the middle. Carpet means the floor might be lava, so do not stand on the carpet. The furnaces get checked with the full expectation of the floor dropping into a pit of fire. One of them ends up on fire at half a heart and survives. One explosion blocks off the door to the outside, so for a while nobody is leaving that way.
They clear house after house from the top down, sometimes going in through the roof, and once straight down the chimney like Santa Claus. Silver Light is about half worn, the axe is still very green, and they have no anvil.
Random loot
The chests here are random. They remember the mapmaker saying this area uses loot tables, a list of what can show up and how often, instead of hand-filled chests. So far that means bread, steak, cookies, a Looting III book, an iron ingot, blaze powder, a cake they stop to eat, and in one chest a diamond. Definitely worth going around and waiting to get back to an ender chest.
One more creeper spawner, one more room clear, and that is the episode. One building stands between them and the next intersection, and that is next time.
