House by house through Forlorn Legacy. The loot keeps getting better, the inventories keep getting fuller, and on a rooftop they finally find the first emerald of the village.
A Fortune book
It starts at the top of a long drop. Don't take the stairs. Something is spawning at the bottom, skeletons by the look of it, so that gets blocked off. Then a chest: bottles of enchanting, stone bricks, potions of resistance and instant health, some iron, and a Fortune book. Fortune book, fortune book, fortune book. So much good stuff.
The first floor was full of skeletons. They also learn that carpet no longer breaks when you shoot arrows into it.
Everybody's on fire
Spider spawners, one on each side of a room. A magic bow. One of them tries to dig a spawner out and immediately regrets it: let me out, let me out. Everybody ends up on fire, but nobody dies.
Inventory is the real enemy now. They are both running out of things to drop. One of them wants to keep the diamond no matter what, and the torches already went overboard for other stuff.
Let the streets be the honey pot
From the roof the next building is right there. They come up with a plan for the whole village: leave the streets dark, let the mobs gather down there like a honey pot, and treat the buildings as their own safe spaces with bridges between them.
The next house gets the water treatment, which one of them knows the other hates, to push the mobs away. A sword with Knockback II and Fire Aspect turns up. A spider drops an enchanted axe. They find a stone axe with Knockback and Looting, which gets a puzzled look.
Then a chest they almost missed up top: arrows, a compass, potions, four iron ingots and a Mending book. Mending on Silver Light is probably worthwhile, but first they need an anvil. Cookies, meanwhile, are for chumps.
Emerald 31
Bridging across the rooftops, they can see cobwebs and lava down in a hole and a whole flock of zombies underneath. They build an infinite water source right there on the roof, making it more difficult than it needs to be along the way. I'm so smart. S-M-R-T.
Digging into the next roof turns up green glass, and inside it, an emerald. Emerald 31. It sits in a little pocket of its own, completely safe, all lit up with torches. They decide to take it back right now, since it is right there.
Stashing the good stuff
There is still a zombie spawner under the stairs. One of them goes after it straight away, decides that was a very bad idea, and falls down a level into more zombies than expected. The zombies start fighting each other, which helps. An Unbreaking II book, a refill of bread and arrows, a golden apple, and the building is clear.
Across a tree to the next spot, and there is the ender chest. In go the emerald, the diamond (just one), the iron, a resistance potion and the Looting book. They still need more iron or an anvil. And that is the episode.
