Episode 11 of Kill the Dragon, Michael Deering's December 2016 Minecraft Hardcore Challenge, opens with rain over the wooden house and Basket short on the one thing the dragon fight needs. "I only have one ender pearl. I need a lot more, and I have emeralds, but I don't have a cleric to trade." So it's time for the plan from last episode. "I'm going to make a door room to try and breed villagers. It seems like a really slow process, but I'm going to try it."
Moving the book room
First comes wood from "the big annoying trees," and a chicken on the way, which this month's rules allow. "This one is set up where usually you can't kill the passive mobs, but in this one you can." Back in the village, two villagers are living side by side in the building that holds Basket's book room, so the books have to go. "So we'll move this stuff out, because these guys are going to live here." The bookshelves come down and planks fill the gaps. Around the rest of the village, Basket finds fewer villagers than before. "Are these guys all dead? I guess. I don't know why they died."
Two door rooms
Beside the house, Basket rings a patch of grass with cobblestone wall, puts torches on top, and digs straight down. "This is a little bit dangerous, but we're just gonna mine down." Below, the doors go in. "Five doors in each direction." A second door room goes in against another building, and this one is "open to the sky. So we're gonna risk it." By the time it's done, night is coming on. "Oh, and a thunderstorm. That's even better. So if you were taking bets on if I'm gonna die, perhaps you will win."
Potatoes for two
The two villagers made it. "All right, you guys are alive? Good." Basket finds some potatoes and hands them over, then swaps out the windows so the pair can't wander. "All right, now you guys are contained." Nothing happens. "Or is it because it's night you have no interest in breeding? I would like a cleric, please." Later in the night the two are just tossing the food back and forth. "So I overfed you." Basket is betting on daylight. "I feel like in the morning they'll breed up."
Efficiency on the pick
The enchanting table moves down to the "little bottom base area" under the house, and the bookshelves turn out to be short. "I'm low on books. I didn't realize that I was actually short." Basket finds enough for two more upstairs. This time there's lapis, so the diamond pickaxe goes on the table. The top offer reads Efficiency IV for three lapis and three levels, and Basket takes it. "Okay, well at least I have a good pick." The bow is still plain. "We do have a bow. I should have enchanted the bow."
Fire at sunrise
The rest of the night goes to hunting for levels in the rain. Zombies come across the grass, and as the sky turns red the sun starts to burn them. Basket ends up on fire too. "I don't know why I bothered to set myself on fire." A water-filled hole puts it out. "Look, it was convenient. I found this hole."
The episode ends with Basket alive at dawn, standing in the pool and eating a steak. The end card follows with no gameplay after it.
