Episode 12 of Kill the Dragon, Michael Deering's December 2016 Minecraft Hardcore Challenge, starts in daylight for once. "It's actually day and not raining, which is great." Basket heads straight for the two villagers shut in last episode. "So let's go check on our villagers to see if they have any interest in each other. I'm hoping for a cleric."
No babies yet
The pair are still standing in their room, and there's nobody new with them. "Have you guys bred yet?" Basket checks trades around the village while waiting, and one window reads Librarian, which doesn't help with ender pearls. "I do need ender pearls." The door room should be doing its job. "My door room should be working just fine. I don't know why you guys aren't cooperating."
Staying in range
With no endermen until dark, Basket sticks close to the village, not sure the pair will breed with nobody around. "I want to stay in range of these guys, so exploring these caves kind of works out." A hole in the ground leads down to a pair of zombies, then a tunnel that ends at the surface. "That was a fun adventure." Back at the farm, the beetroot Basket doesn't like goes back in anyway. "Because it seems like these guys will eat beetroots." The villagers still aren't interested. "What do you guys want from me? I gave you food?" Farther out, the plains run into a swamp. "Oh, a swamp. Maybe there's cool things in the swamp."
Enderman watch
As the sun goes down, Basket makes a second iron sword from the chest in case the first wears out, then goes looking for endermen. Out on the grass Basket stacks a cobblestone pillar with a block of roof jutting out and waits under it. Creepers, a skeleton and a spider come first. Later Basket crafts a backup shield too. Then an enderman turns up in the dark. "Oh, there's an enderman, look at this, perfect. You, come here. I need your ender pearl, please." Basket kills it, and no pearl drops. "Let's give him an ender pearl, that'd be great. And... No."
Doors and trades
Back in the village the two villagers are still alone. Basket wonders if the other door rooms are the problem. "Perhaps it's because of my other doors. Maybe they're trying to get to the other doors or something." The librarian's trades come up again, since "sometimes trading speeds it up." Basket doesn't have enough to trade yet. "I have to get some more sugar cane to trade them." A new chest goes down to hold the overflow.
Sunrise
At first light the zombies are still around the farm. Basket fights a few of them, and the sun starts to burn the rest. One villager is out in the open and still in one piece. "Hey, you're sort of safe. Look at that. Good job."
Basket ends the episode alive, ducking into the building with the villagers "where it's a little bit safe," still waiting to see whether they breed. The end card follows with no gameplay after it.
