Day four of the Lacto Ovo Pacifist Challenge, Michael Deering's June 2015 Minecraft Hardcore Challenge. The title card reads "Day 0100", which is four in binary. The rules haven't changed: no meat, fish, mushrooms or rotten flesh, no harming any mob, and nothing taken from a village except one thing for each gold ingot. Basket climbs out of the lava caves and into the team's underground base, and this time the rest of the team turns up on screen. By the end of the day pulse2010, pikerize and Scoti_Garbidis have all walked past Basket's camera.
Back at the cave farm
The base has a small farm of wheat, sugar cane and potatoes around a water block, lit by torches. pulse2010 is at the farm when Basket arrives. "Oh, look at this nice farm." Then: "What happened to efficient farming?" Basket stops at the furnaces and chests, then heads up and out.
Across the plains in the rain
It's raining hard on the surface. Basket crosses the grass past trees, cows and a pig, all left alone. On the call: "Hey, I told you I'd find you." Then: "I didn't find pumpkins, by the way." A village comes into view over the hill.
Shopping without meat
Basket goes from house to house checking trades with a cleric, a tool smith, an armorer, a leatherworker and a librarian. None of them sells food. "So I can trade coal for efficiency shovel, that's not very exciting." The leatherworker isn't much better: "There's leather pants, that's not very exciting." Someone points out that "some of the farmers should be able to trade you back potatoes, carrots, apples and things and bread." With only one thing allowed per gold ingot, every pick starts an argument. "I'm gonna just buy one potato and then get the three apples." "We can't replant those though, man." "I know, but we already have a big farm and people are starving." As the light fades: "Okay, I'm heading back."
Diamonds and a new pick
Basket digs down out of the rain, and the next shots are back at the base. A chat line says Scoti_Garbidis "has just earned the achievement [DIAMONDS!]". "I'm getting more diamonds for us guys." Then a claim on the call: "I'm gonna make a diamond pick, so don't make one." On Basket's screen, three diamonds go on the crafting table and a diamond pickaxe comes out.
Obsidian from the lava pool
"I'm gonna go make some obsidian." Basket carries a water bucket down the ladder shaft and through the tunnels to a lava pool, pours it out, and the lava along the edge turns to obsidian. The new diamond pickaxe mines it out block by block.
The end of day four
Back at the base, Basket crafts an enchanting table from diamonds, obsidian and a book and sets it beside the furnaces. The first enchantment on the diamond pickaxe comes up Efficiency I and Unbreaking I. "Oh nice, I got efficiency one and unbreaking one in the diamond pick." Basket then turns iron into armor at the crafting table while the farm grows new rows along a water channel. "This is like day four, right?" "Yeah, we're on day four." With all four players in the base, skeletons get a mention, and a joke: "You know, if we were truly moral we'd go and help them." "What? The skeletons? They're undead, they're not of this earth." The day ends with Basket in the base, hearts full and hunger a little over half. No death lines show up, and the house on the plains hasn't been started. The credits follow, with no gameplay after them.
