Day six of the Lacto Ovo Pacifist Challenge, Michael Deering's June 2015 Minecraft Hardcore Challenge. The title card reads "Day 0110", which is six in binary. The rules have not changed: no meat, fish, mushrooms or rotten flesh, no harming any mob, and the goal is a pretty house on the plains. The team has just moved into the new plank house, and Basket starts the day where the last one ended, down in the staircase mine underneath it.
A farm that looks pretty
While Basket digs, the talk on the call turns to food. One voice asks, "Do you mind if I build a farm next to our house?" The answer: "Just fence it in, make it look pretty, man. That's what we're really after, is making things look pretty." Another voice is still at the old farm: "I'm just going to wait here for a little bit and let the wheat grow." Later: "My plan worked! I got more potatoes."
Through the lava
Basket keeps the diamond pickaxe busy, carving stairs down through dirt, gravel and stone. The tunnel breaks into caves lit orange by pools of lava. Basket mines around the edges with a water bucket close at hand, picking at redstone ore in the walls and placing torches on the way back.
A long night for someone
The talk on the call turns worried. "I'm trying to get some apples off these trees... I have no food!" Then: "I'm gonna dig a hole." The house answers, "We've got apples waiting for you, man." For about three minutes the chat window sits open on Basket's screen, full of the team's older achievement lines, and later a line from pikerize turns up in chat. And one verdict on the new farm: "This is more of a death trap than it is a farm." "Zombies in with you!"
Back in the house
Basket climbs the stairs back into the house, where Scoti_Garbidis and pulse2010 are moving around under the stone roof. Basket runs the furnaces, works through the large chests, and turns a stack of redstone dust into a block of redstone. That block goes under the enchanting table, by the windows next to the furnaces. Through the glass, a sheep and a fenced patch of crops sit outside. "Our little house on the prairie is gonna be awesome."
The plans keep growing: "I'd like to put a log in so we've got like a separate sleeping area, maybe decorate the house a little bit." Another wish: "I would like to use a different wood for the floor."
Morning and a zombie in armor
Basket heads back down for a little more digging, then climbs the ladder into the house as the sky lightens. pikerize is inside. Outside the window, a zombie in gold armor wanders past the crops, and under the rules nobody may hurt it. "Lead him away from the house. Whatever you do." Then someone asks, "Alright, so is that an episode?" Basket is alive with full hearts and hunger at about half, and no death shows on screen. The credits follow, with no gameplay after them.
