Day seven of the Lacto Ovo Pacifist Challenge, Michael Deering's June 2015 Minecraft Hardcore Challenge. The title card reads "Day 0111", which is seven in binary. The rules still stand: no meat, fish, mushrooms or rotten flesh, no harming any mob, and the goal is a pretty house on the plains. Basket starts the morning up on the walls of the plank house, breaking out cobblestone along the top while pikerize is down inside.
Getting rid of a zombie, politely
The day opens with talk of a zombie that will not go away, and nobody may hurt it. "Come on, it's a gold helmet, it shouldn't take this long to break." One plan on the call: "I'm gonna make it follow me far away and then it'll not be here anymore." Basket climbs down, heads to the river and lays sand blocks into the water, swimming along the bank. Another idea gets shot down fast. "I was gonna try and suffocate those skeletons in that pool by putting sand on them." "That's directly harming."
A loft over the house
Back inside, Basket runs the furnaces for iron and glass while pikerize, Scoti_Garbidis and pulse2010 move around the room. Oak slabs go in across the top of the walls to make a loft floor, and Scoti_Garbidis is soon walking around up there. Someone asks, "Oak instead of spruce for the floor?" The answer: "Nah. I've already made all the oak slabs." A ladder goes up the wall to reach it.
A cake that is not a lie
With no meat allowed, someone on the call has wheat and an idea: "If you give me two buckets, I can try to make a cake." A chat line soon shows pulse2010 earning the achievement "The Lie", and the cake lands on the crafting table. The verdict a little later: "The cake was delicious." Someone else is happy with simpler food: "I'm eating a cooked potato."
A stone floor and new armor
"I have lots of andesite. Do you want that for the floor?" Basket crafts polished granite and polished andesite, digs out the old grass floor and lays the two in a checkered pattern around the furnaces. Then it is over to the enchanting table, where Basket puts lapis to use on the iron armor. The chestplate comes out with Projectile Protection I, and the armor on Basket's inventory screen shows the enchanted glow. Beds get made too ("I only made three of them"), and red beds sit up in the loft.
Up on the roof
Night falls. Basket crafts a trapdoor and climbs the ladder through the loft onto the roof. Asked why, the answer on the call is "Just look around." Below, a zombie walks the slope beside the house and skeletons stand near the fenced crop patch. "A lot of skeletons out there." Back inside, a water bucket comes out by the doorway: "Can we push this guy away from the door?"
Labels for the chests
The last job is tidying. Basket sorts the chests and writes signs for them: cobble, wood stuff, misc. The talk turns to moving the furnaces, maybe into a cobblestone chimney, "and kind of try and make things fancy." Morning light shows through the windows, and on the call: "Bunch of guys burning up." Basket is alive with full hearts, and no death shows on screen. The credits follow, with no gameplay after them.
