Day nine of the Lacto Ovo Pacifist Challenge, Michael Deering's June 2015 Minecraft Hardcore Challenge, and the last day of the month. The title card reads "Day 1001", which is nine in binary. The rules have not changed: no meat, fish, mushrooms or rotten flesh, no harming any mob, and a pretty house to finish on the plains. Basket starts in the plank house and heads out into the rain with Scoti_Garbidis.
Flowers on the plains
The rain clears over the plains, and pikerize turns up out on the grass. Past the hills is a stretch of sunflowers and poppies. "Now isn't this like a flower prairie over here?" Someone wants sunflowers to decorate the house, and the search for pumpkins comes up empty: "There are no pumpkins around here." Basket cuts back through a patch of birch forest to the house, where pulse2010 is inside. Someone has eggs. "Oh eggs, nice, that helps." There is talk of one more bed for the loft, "so we all have a cool bed."
The cow that would not move in
Back outside, Basket walks across the plains holding wheat, and a cow follows it to the house. "You got a cow who wants to move in." The cow gets as far as the front door and no further. "What happened to our door?" "We broke it to try and get a cow in." Scoti_Garbidis stands by while the cow wanders the cobblestone path. Fence posts stand by the porch, and the idea is plain enough: "It'd be like a little safe porch area. It's not for the cow, if that's what you're thinking." In the end: "I didn't get the cow in." "Mission still accomplished." Someone already has shears for wool, and later: "All right, we got a bed for everybody now." Then from the call: "I survived. I usually die in the MHC challenges."
Tables and footlockers
Night falls, and Basket watches the farm from the roof under the moon. Back inside, the furniture plans come out: "I think I'm gonna put little tables next to the beds," with "foot lockers at the end of the beds." Basket crafts planks, and upside-down stairs go down on the checkered floor as a table. "You make it into a little table." Chests sit at the foot of the loft beds. "It's where we put our stuff before we go to bed." "Oh, it's our footlocker."
A creeper on the porch
Then a problem: "What's up on our fence? Oh wow, how did that happen?" "He climbed up the bush I put out there." A creeper is loose on the porch, and it shows up right outside the front door window. Hitting it is against the rules. "Somebody got water bucket? They can knock them off." Water pours past the door. "Now he's in our patio." Then, after a while: "Is the creeper out of the front porch?" "Yes. I believe so." The potted plant by the door takes a hit from the water: "It did mess up the pot." Afterward a spruce fence runs along the cobblestone path out front, and a painting goes up on the wall inside.
Here comes the sun
The team climbs onto the roof, where pikerize, pulse2010 and Scoti_Garbidis gather by the chimney. "Oh, here comes the sun." The farm shows green below in the morning light. "Feeling good, guys. I think we did well." Someone points out there is still wheat growing in the cave. "Yeah, it's a new day." The last shot shows four players standing on the roof as the sun comes up. Basket is alive with full hearts, and no death shows on screen. The credits follow, with no gameplay after them.
