Witchy Wife: MHC Marry a Witch Episode 6

  • Published on

The witch from last episode is still in the house, and day six starts with the name. "Today we're going to name my witchy wife. In fact, that's the name I picked." The idea came from Michael Deering: "I think he suggested Witch Wife, but I'm going to go with Witchy Wife."

The name tag

At the anvil, Basket types the name into a name tag: Witchy Wife. To be safe, the tagging happens from below. Basket digs a tunnel under the wall, opens a hole in the floor beside the witch, and uses the tag from there. The nameplate shows over the witch's head, and the dirt goes back in.

A roof

Next job: "we'll need to put a roof on and potentially decorate the inside." Basket makes an iron axe and cuts the trees at camp for wood, but leaves one big tree standing "because it's annoying to cut down" and it makes "a nice tree for the yard." A fence around the front yard is on the list too.

The roof is oak stairs. The first batch runs short, so Basket crafts more and fills the gaps with blocks. "I'm sure our witchy wife will make this a little bit challenging, but I think it'll be okay." One side goes up, then the other, with plain blocks along the middle.

A cauldron and clay

"What does she want? I think she wants a cauldron." Basket has the iron, crafts one, sets it in a corner and fills it with water.

Then comes a hunt for clay to make pots for flowers. Night is coming, but Basket isn't worried. The first spots turn up sand and gravel. Then there's clay under the water. On the way back Basket looks around for a second witch, since there are name tags to spare, and finds skeletons and creepers. "Hmm, no witches."

At the furnace the clay turns into bricks. "I never make these. So let's see how you actually do it."

Leather and a frame

Basket finds wheat in the chest and breeds two of the mooshrooms near camp. Once the breeding is done, Basket comes away with two leather. That makes an item frame. "What does a witchy wife want in an item frame? A mushroom, maybe? Or this flower?"

Boxed in

Decorating is hard with a witch in the way. Basket pours water inside the house to push Witchy Wife into a corner, then blocks the spot off. "Now I think you're trapped." The water comes back out. The witch still blocks part of the room, "but I think you at least can't get through the front door."

It's morning by now. Basket switches to third person for a look at the finished outside. "It looks like the front of this building is sort of plain," so that's next.

Basket is alive, and Witchy Wife is named and boxed in a corner of the house. The credits roll after that, with no gameplay after them.
