Witchy Wife Set Free: MHC Marry a Witch Episode 9

  • Published on

Day nine, "day 9-ish," as Basket puts it, and the last episode of the month. Witchy Wife is still in the corner, "you can tell by her dashing purple robes or whatever." The raised roof from last time left room for a loft, and the two beds are ready to go in.

A double bed in the loft

The loft idea came from another entrant, and Basket gives full credit. First it needs a window. There isn't much glass left, so panes go in, two on the side, and "I think I like that."

Then the beds. Side by side one way, whoever sleeps on the far side has to crawl over. The other way "both people can get on," even if it takes up more room. Basket picks that one, nearly falls through the hole on the way ("note to self, don't fall down there"), and it is still raining. "I'm sure those windows are just gonna be leaky because I don't have any gutters."

Two chests for two people

End tables are the next puzzle. A birch table looks too big and slabs don't work, so Basket chops more wood at the tree farm and puts a small chest on each side of the bed, "so we could each put in like our own stuff."

Basket's side gets redstone, six gold and "my emergency milk bucket in the middle in case she poisons me." Witchy Wife's side gets redstone too, plus sugar, sticks ("they're big fans of sticks") and flowers, with a milk bucket "in case she poisons herself."

Paintings with a story

Now that there is wool, Basket crafts three paintings, another suggestion from the same entrant. Paintings come out random, and it takes a few tries to get the ones Basket wants. Each gets a made-up story. One is "my witchy wife when we went to Europe," standing at a castle. A small one upstairs looks "like a frog butt or something. Witches like frog butts."

A dirt pillar comes out, and a painting Basket calls "gigantic" goes on the wall. "That's actually her ex-husband." According to Basket, "he got poisoned. Hopefully that's not my fate."

No garden after all

A garden was suggested too, but all of Basket's flowers are inside. So Basket heads out at night with a sword to pick some across the water. Zombies wade in the river, and a creeper turns up by the water. "I can handle these guys just fine. It's the skeleton that I'm kind of worried about." Basket even hopes that skeleton might shoot the creeper and drop a record.

The sky starts to lighten. "I've already wasted half the night just trying to get over to the flowers," so the outdoor garden is off. The story Basket settles on: the flowers in the chest are dried ones from the ex-husband, so they can't be planted anyway.

Out of the box

Back home, Basket eats some stew and takes down the dirt and cobblestone box, working from higher up to stay safe. "How do you like the house? Don't kill me like your ex-husband." Witchy Wife is loose in the house again. Basket notices purple sparkles coming off the witch and isn't sure what they are. "Do I get first place? People gonna vote for me?"

Outside, Basket switches to third person by the front window. "So this is me everybody, BasketMC. This is my witchy wife, and this is our house. I can't go in anymore, otherwise she'll kill me." No fence goes up around the yard on screen, and no result or vote count is shown.

Basket ends the month alive, standing outside the house. The credits roll after that, with no gameplay after them.
