Wool for the Beds: MHC Marry a Witch Episode 8

  • Published on

Day eight starts with the leaves Basket gathered last time. "We're going to start out with putting down some bushes." Witchy Wife is still boxed into a corner of the house, and the yard still has no fence.

Bushes and a foundation

The first leaf blocks go down beside the porch steps. Basket swaps the dirt under the front wall for cobblestone to "make it more look like there's a foundation there," then adds more bushes along a side window.

A long walk for wool

Basket has a few suggestions to try. The host, Michael Deering, suggested a double bed. A viewer suggested a fireplace and more stoves, and more flowers came up too. "A lot of them require wool," so Basket packs bread and heads out of the mushroom biome to find sheep.

The plains have pigs, chickens, cows, horses and flowers, but no sheep. Basket crosses rivers and a stretch of desert and starts to wonder. "Weird. Sheep do spawn in the plains, right?" Then: "Maybe Michael knew this and this was his plan to get me away from building on the house."

Finally a small flock turns up. "There we go, there's some sheep. Had to go pretty far." Basket gets the wool and heads back along the edge of the mushroom biome.

Two beds and no room

The sun is setting by the time Basket gets home. "Looks like we've spent nearly the entire day just getting this wool, so I hope it's worth it. I hope that my witchy wife appreciates this double bed that I don't have room for in the house." Food is low too, so Basket gets some mushroom stew from a mooshroom.

Two beds get crafted, "and we won't sleep in them," since the rules ban sleeping in beds. The problem is where they go. The ceiling is low, so Basket plans a loft on the side away from the table, with slabs to hold the beds and a ladder to climb up. That needs a taller roof. First the witch gets closed into a smaller box, "so she doesn't kill me."

A new roof in the rain

Basket climbs up, pulls off the roof and starts rebuilding it higher with oak stairs. Partway through, it starts raining. A look from outside isn't encouraging. "Oh well, this certainly doesn't look good." Extending the sides would not work with this design, "so I guess I will leave it the way it is."

The stairs run short, so Basket crafts more, then more again. The top gets slabs to give "a little bit more vertical space inside," and the ladders come down. Inside, there is now room for a ladder up to the loft.

Witchy Wife in the corner

Basket stays inside out of the rain and switches to third person. "There's my witchy wife over there in the corner in her little dirt cobble box." The beds go up next episode, along with "a couple other things."

Basket is alive, the roof is taller, and the two beds are still in the inventory. The credits roll after that, with no gameplay after them.
