"It's our last day." Day nine is the final episode of Mission Impossible, Michael Deering's January 2014 challenge, and only two of Team MaBaSteeLo are left: Basket and Max_Writer, holding the stronghold they captured. The first thing on the list is checking the clocks, which read "a little afternoon." The second is spending experience.
Spending the experience
Basket's experience bar starts at 31. The chests by the furnaces hold enchanted books (the tooltips read Efficiency III, Sharpness IV, and Blast Protection IV with Fire Aspect II), and Basket opens an anvil. The chat shows "BasketMC has just earned the achievement [Acquire Hardware]." On the anvil, Blast Protection IV goes onto an iron chestplate, and the level counter drops to 21, then to 9. "I feel so much protection."
Zombies, a witch and a creeper
Then it is back out through the mineshaft that opens off the stronghold. "I'm gonna kill these zombies." The iron sword takes care of them in a narrow plank corridor. Next comes "There's a witch right there," and Basket draws the bow and fires down the tunnel. A voice dedicates the shot to the teammate a witch killed last episode. Witches heal, and it takes a lot of arrows before a voice reports, "There we go, got it." A little further on, a creeper steps out under a cobweb, closes in and blows up, leaving a crater in the mineshaft floor. Basket comes through it and has a bowl of mushroom stew.
A tour of the stronghold
Back inside, the episode turns into a house tour. A room with a long wooden table and stair chairs becomes the meeting room: "If we want to hold a meeting." Wheat is up in a planted room ("Oh, wheat's coming in now"), and there's talk of watermelons by the mushroom farm. Paintings go up on the walls: "That's perfect for that spot." An iron golem is already walking the halls ("We have a golem"), and a second one gets made: "You can do the honors. I'll make another one." Basket crafts iron blocks, and the new golem goes in the hallway. "Maybe he'll patrol the hallway."
Rooms, doors and no diamonds
The jail cells are bedrooms now. "Which one's my room?" "Dibs on this one." They are identical, two paintings each, and one of them has "the creeper painting." Wooden doors go on "as a safety precaution." The corner that was meant for enchanting has a new name, the meditation room, because the diamonds never came: "I can't believe through all that digging I didn't find a single diamond."
A ticking clock
The last project is a clock in the wall. A note block goes in with redstone and redstone torches around it, and the first version is loud. "That's really creepy, I hate it." "Can you make it go tick-tick instead of thump-thump?" Some glass is the fix: "That's much better." One more painting goes in the hallway, and the clock gets a lesson: half blue and half black means morning.
We can live here forever
The clock says morning, which they count as the end of day nine, and they sign out in the meeting room with the iron golem standing by the table. The summary goes: "We've set up this place, it looks really spiffy. There's lots of paintings and we have rooms and we have a place to live and plenty of food and more coming." Then: "We are set. We can live here forever." The goodbye is "See you next month."
So Mission Impossible ends with Basket and Max_Writer both alive in the stronghold. No death lines appear in the chat this episode, and no score or judging shows on screen. The credits thank Team MaBaSteeLo (Max Writer, Steel Douglas and LostInTheFort) and Michael Deering, and nothing plays after them.
