The last episode of Michael Deering's July 2014 challenge opens with a plan that sounds like the TV show the month is named after: "Today we are going to escape this dreaded jungle." The way out is a raft, built "out of the only materials that we have here, which is jungle wood." Basket and Sayulily still play by the same rules: no armor, no swords or bows, no meat, and both of them have to make it.
Packing for the trip
First, supplies. "Are we good on food?" There's a bunch of soup on one side and a bunch of mushrooms on the other, which should cover "our little trip." Flint goes into the inventory too, four pieces of it, for flint and steel. What that is for stays a secret for now: "We gotta figure a way to propel our boat after all."
A raft from jungle wood
Out on the water by the temple, jungle logs go down in rows with planks across them. It takes some working out. "We're going to need one more vertical piece on either side." Then the ideas get bigger. "We had enough time to make a mast." Sails need wool, and seven pieces of string won't cover it, but there's enough iron for shears, and sheep turn out to be the one thing the jungle isn't short on. Both of them make shears, so "we'll be twice as sufficient then." Four white wool and some black wool come back to the raft.
A chest and a crafting table go on the deck, and the mast goes as close to the middle as it will fit. Then it starts to rain, and the rain turns into a thunderstorm. "Well, I wouldn't want to ship off in any other weather." The wool sails go on either side of the mast, and they get nailed down "so that they don't go away or fly away in the storm."
The distress signal
Now the flint and steel make sense. "Let's set off a distress signal." The idea is to light up enough of the jungle that "the helicopters can find us." The rain keeps putting the fires out, so the trick is to light trees where the leaves overhead keep the water off. "Oh, that tree is burning nice."
It gets close. "We nearly caught on fire." Then: "Quickly! Light all the things! Nothing must... oh, don't die!" A water bucket comes out. Vines go up "like paper," and one tree gets a goodbye: "Sorry Tree, I always thought you were pretty, but it's time for you to go."
Mobs in the rain
The storm brings mobs out. "Oh, here comes the spider." Then: "Oop, I'm being shot at. Nobody shoots a basket." The reflex is to shoot back, which doesn't work this month: "I'll shoot him with my bow. Oh wait I don't have a bow." A moment later: "Oh he's on fire." "That was close." The burning carries on.
Then a creeper turns up in the dark. "Here, let's use the flint and steel." "Boom! I mean, why not? When do you get to do this in an MHC?" Then: "Oh, there's two creepers in this." "It's a little ravine spot." "Explode. Whoa. No! Oh, no!"
The end of the challenge
The chat shows what happened: "Sayulily was blown up by Creeper." In hardcore, that ends Sayulily's run, and the month's rules said both players had to make it. "They almost made it." The plan from there is to "head over to our raft" and hope rescue comes.
Basket is still alive at the end, back on the raft in the rain. The episode closes with a third-person shot of the raft and its sails, then the end card, with no gameplay after it. This is the last episode of the Naked & Afraid challenge.
