Day seven of Michael Deering's July 2014 challenge starts in the portal room, right where day six left off. "So we have a total of seven diamonds." That is enough for an enchanting table, the plan Basket and Sayulily signed off on last time. The rules haven't moved: no armor, no swords or bows, no meat, and both of them have to make it.
Short on obsidian
Diamonds are only part of the recipe. "But we still need obsidian, don't we?" There's water and lava in the mine, so Basket heads down with a bucket and the diamond pickaxe and starts turning lava into obsidian one block at a time. It does not go smoothly. "Oh no! The server's eaten your obsidian." The count reads "still only three" for a while before it climbs high enough to head back up.
A trophy wall
On the way, the golden apple comes up. Nobody has eaten it. The answer is a trophy room, and the leather on hand turns into two item frames. A clock goes in one and the golden apple in the other, side by side on the temple wall.
The enchanting table
The last piece comes together, and the chat confirms it: "Sayulily has just earned the achievement [Enchanter]." The table goes down on the temple floor. "Ta-da!"
With no swords or bows in the game, the choices are thin. "I guess I'll do level one on the pick." Basket's diamond pickaxe comes out with Efficiency I, and so does the diamond axe. That's "all it's gonna get."
Redstone with a delay
Then a request: "You want to do a bit of redstone? Because I'm having trouble figuring out how exactly." The build is a piston machine for the cocoa beans: press a button, the pistons go up, then they come back down. The trouble is timing. "That's going off at the exact same time." Basket rebuilds it sideways to add a delay, which earns a laugh: "You took my build and then you complicated it by like tenfold." "I'm trying to make it less efficient, actually, to make it so that it'll actually work."
A torch doesn't fix it. A stone button "does nothing." A repeater from the chest gets it closer, and a second repeater finally does it. "Yay! Yay! Yay!"
Room for more cocoa
One working side isn't enough. They mine out around the machine so cocoa pods can grow on both sides, and that breaks the wiring. Sticky pistons go in, and the top row refuses to move. "Now they're both not working." "Well, that's progress." Swapping a regular piston for a sticky one sorts most of it out, and the gaps get filled with cobblestone.
Bone meal at sunrise
A look at the clock on the wall: "It should be getting close to daytime." Then: "I put the bone meal here." "You can bone meal cocoa?" The pods grow on the jungle logs.
The top two pistons might work better as regular pistons, "but we can do that in the next episode." The two stand in the wheat in front of the machine to sign off: "We got machines, we got cocoa beans, we got wheat, we got food." Both players are alive at the end of day seven, with no death on screen, and the end card follows with no gameplay after it.
