Punching Pigmen: MHC Nether Adventure Episode 7

  • Published on

Day seven of Nether Adventure, and Team ScoOpBaLo is still three players: optimus1971, Scoti_Garbidis and Basket. Day six ended with a chicken at the bottom of a netherrack pit and a plan to get eggs out of it. Day seven starts with everyone staring into the pit.

Waiting on an egg

"How long does it take for chicken to lay eggs?" Someone guesses one to ten minutes. "Maybe an unwatched chicken will lay eggs." Nobody wants to stand around that long. "Is there an egg yet?" "No, no egg." The team settles on a deadline: "I say we give it two more episodes, and if it doesn't lay an egg, we leave."

Out on the open netherrack things are less calm. Fires burn all over the ground, zombie pigmen wander through them, and somebody yells, "Oh, hit a pig man, hit a pig man!" Then comes the question: "Basket, why did you go mess with that guy?" A moment later: "Oh, I almost lagged out into that lava."

A second fortress

The team moves on, crossing a strip of gravel ("you're so falling before you get across") while someone calls out, "Oh, I see the ghast. He's trying to get you." Then nether brick turns up again. "Is this the same fortress, you think, or a different one?" It's different: "This is a whole different fortress." "I forget we swam all that way." The calls come fast inside: "There's blazes up above here," and "there's a wither skeleton," near a stretch someone names the Hall of Badness. One player has a verdict: "The worst fortress ever. The other one was awesome, but we can be happier here because we don't have the constant reminder of the loss of Lost."

One player is down to "a mostly depleted stone sword." The team talks about an enchanting table, but it needs books, one more diamond and obsidian, and the obsidian is back at the sealed portal they can never go through again.

Punching pigmen

With about six minutes left in the day, someone decides "it's time for things to get interesting." "Are you gonna hit pig man?" "It's gonna make everybody angry." The pigmen get hit, and they "take a lot of hits." "Oh, you got him, good job." Chat shows Scoti_Garbidis earning Time to Mine! and Getting an Upgrade, and a pigman comes down the tunnel toward the team.

Basket turns the HUD off for a while to watch the pigmen. "I guess they're not aggro." "Can I hit one now?" "No way, dude. Let's keep moving."

A southern journey to the north

Then the team notices it has been walking the wrong way. "We just went north a bunch." "We're going on a southern journey to the north." Someone shouts that "Basket just bit it in lava," then: "Almost." Someone has a message for the host, Michael Deering: "We better win something for accomplishing absolutely nothing. Except for losing one of our members needlessly." The last words before the credits: "It's time to punch a pigman."

All three end day seven alive, with no death in chat or on screen. This is the last Nether Adventure episode on the channel, and the video doesn't say the run is over. The team even mentions "a whole nother episode after this." The credits roll, and nothing comes after them.
