Day six of Nether Adventure, and Team ScoOpBaLo is three players now: optimus1971, Scoti_Garbidis and Basket. The fortress HQ has food, a brewing stand and a lot of mushrooms. By the end of the day the team has left it behind, swum through a sea of lava and trapped a chicken in a hole.
On fire again
The day starts with the timer running and the team scattered. Someone wandered off for mushrooms, and the voice chat fills up with "lots of wither skeletons out here" and "I'm on fire!" Scoti_Garbidis burns on screen in the HQ while someone shouts, "Oh, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die." "Don't you die." Nobody does. There is some good news: "Wasn't a complete waste. We now have wheat." Then the question nobody has answered yet: "Are we getting out of here, man? I can't handle this."
Three potions
Everyone pools mushrooms ("I have 30 red ones") and the brewing starts. Glass comes out of the furnace for bottles, the bottles get filled, and nether wart and magma cream go into the stand. "Don't make them splash either. Make them normal." Redstone goes in to make them last longer, and the tooltip reads "Potion of Fire Resistance (8:00)." Two golden apples get made as well: "I only had enough gold for two." One upside of the Nether comes up too: "creepers don't normally live down here."
Packing up
Next the team empties the shared chest. "Do you want the diamond horse armor?" "What are we gonna use it for?" Iron horse armor goes in a pack "just in case." Then they argue over which way is south and set off. "Here's to a better land." The talk keeps drifting back to the teammate who died on day five: "Lost, we miss you."
The hot swim
At the edge of a huge lava lake, someone has an idea. "We could take our potions and jump down into this lava and then swim out." It would use up the potions, but nobody minds much. "Should we drink our potions and jump?" "All right, bottoms up, kids." Basket switches to the third-person view to watch the team bob along on fire. "It looks kinda silly, it's like floating on the water. Or by water I mean lava." The potions are good for eight minutes, and the team keeps checking the clock.
Still burning
Getting out is the hard part. "Oh God, I'm on fire. I'm on soul sand to boot." "I'm a giant beacon on fire." Everyone is still burning after leaving the lava. "We gotta let the fire burn out." The team digs into the netherrack to wait, lava starts leaking into the tunnel, and one player digs straight up to get clear. Basket's Fire Resistance timer ticks down on screen. "I am in love with the Nether right now," says one player, and then, "I just keep telling myself that. Eventually I'll believe it." Basket crafts a stone pickaxe for a teammate: "I got one for you."
A chicken at last
Out on the netherrack a baby zombie pigman rides past on a chicken. "Big baby on a chicken." "We could actually get a couple eggs from it." Nobody brought seeds. Then come plans for a piston and a hunt for gravel, "something very elaborate and very ineffective," and a question: "If we crush a pigman, he doesn't get mad, right?"
By the end a chicken sits at the bottom of a netherrack pit. "Where's the chicken?" "It's in there." "This is... we're wasting time." "Hey, it's the end of the episode."
All three end day six alive, somewhere south of the old HQ with a chicken in a hole. The credits roll, and nothing comes after them.
