City Jail: Inversion Server Episode 2

  • Published on

Basket's second episode on Inversion turns the empty spawn plot from Episode 1 into a city jail, with a hidden basement under one of the cells. There is a stop in the End to enchant a pile of pickaxes, and then two nights of trying to get zombies into the cells.

Building the jail

"Hey everybody, Basket here," the episode opens on the plot. The plan: "this town needs a jail." A foundation of cells is already laid out, and the last cell will hide the door to an area underneath. A camera view from high above records the build as a time-lapse while stone brick walls and a stepped roof go up next to a sandstone building with red, white and blue stripes. Inside, a chest has a sign on it reading "Welcome to the Server! Scoti Garbidis!" The narration says another player stopped by and left a couple of potions and some pie.

The secret stairs

The cells line a hallway of iron doors, and some have buttons on the inside. In the last cell, a pressure plate opens a set of stairs in the floor, and another plate closes them again through a T flip-flop and a row of pistons. The narration says the design came from another video and only works facing north and south. Down the stairs is a basement with a bed, chests and crafting tables, kept "for storage for now until I have a bigger base."

Enchanting in the End

Next comes a trip through the Nether to the End, where the server has an enderman farm. According to the narration, Th3pooka's Fortune III pickaxe was on loan, and with it the offshore resource platform gave up 40 diamonds. The tooltips show the two best: the borrowed pick, now named "Pooka's Fortune Pickaxe," with Fortune III, Efficiency IV and Unbreaking III, and Basket's own diamond pickaxe, named "Money Maker 2000," with Efficiency V, Fortune III and Unbreaking III. "I used all but one diamond."

The first prisoners

Back at the jail, the job is filling the cells. Zombies pick up items, so Basket throws them things and lures them through the doors. The first one has grabbed a sign: "some sort of protest sign. I'll teach him to protest." The second walks in holding a pumpkin pie and gets the name pie thief.

Chat fills in a side story. On the way to return the pickaxe, Basket got lost in caves under Th3pooka's base. Th3pooka types "? you were beneath me?" and then "alot of caves." Morning comes with two prisoners in.

A crowded night

The next night is harder. Zombies ignore a golden helmet, and BasketMC types "these guys don't want to wear my hats." Chat gets busy. xPR0xGR33NY asks about community food and beds, "Th3pooka was slain by Zombie" comes up and BasketMC answers "Oh my!", and TheSportsfreak joins with "hello newbies!" xPR0xGR33NY's nameplate turns up inside the jail. When xPR0xGR33NY writes that a door might be broken, BasketMC replies, "yeah, doors are gone."

The cells still fill. A zombie that, in the narration's words, has "a bunch of golden armor and gunpowder" goes in under a sign reading "Blingy Bomber," and the last sign of the night reads "Tree Hugger."

Clips from a call

The narration says a voice call followed the build, and the episode ends with clips from it. On screen, Basket goes through a Nether portal past a sign reading "BasketMC was here. Your pickaxe is on a floating rock," then wanders through caves, a sugar cane tunnel and a wheat farm to a hall lined with chests. "Which base are you at?" one voice asks, and later another says, "You can harvest whatever you want." The last shot goes back to the jail hallway, signs up beside the cell doors, before the end card.
