Episode 8 is the first of two RainCloud SMP videos called "Dogs." Last time Basket and Scoti_Garbidis set three cats on the mob sorter. Now the dog side needs dogs, and nobody in the group has any. Evil_Mech_Meru says so in chat: "I haz no dogs." So the plan is to breed somebody else's. By the end there are puppies, the dogs' owner is online, and everyone is on the move again along the rail paths.
Borrowed dogs
Chat points them to "2 dogs behind the hotel." The two wolves are sitting next to a grave marker. "So if we breed dogs from somebody else's dogs, are they our dogs though?" Nobody knows. They grab raw beef and cooked chicken from a chest and try anyway.
Sitting dogs will not breed, and they cannot make them stand. The fix is water. "I don't have a bucket, hold on, I'll make a bucket. Oh, I have a bucket, I lied." Water goes down, the wet wolves stand up, food goes in, and hearts appear.
A puppy is born by the pond. "Whose dog is that?" Nobody can tell. Chat offers: "good luck getting that home."
A railroad for dogs
Getting dogs back to their base means a long trip. "We're gonna need a long railroad." Pushing a minecart across the ground is "really slow," so rail it is. They find a line already running, which chat says "goes to the commercial district," and build off it through spawn. Lights set into the path get in the way, and one bridge stays as it is: "I can't tear this bridge up. I'll never make it look as cool as it did before." On the recording: "I have put so much rail in it's not even funny."
Looking for a villager
They also need a villager. Chat says another player had been moving villagers, then "maybe [they] took them all." A building with a "Trade with the Priest" sign has a tunnel down to "just one." Taking the only one is "probably a bad move." Chat suggests "some at the mall," and a minecart ride later they find two villagers in a room full of doors. "These guys don't make babies, I guess." Back to the dogs.
The owner logs in
Then Kireinafujin joins the game. Scoti's request, in an edited caption, is help "for like 7 minutes max." Evil_Mech_Meru types "dont do it, it's a trap," then "I had nothing to do with it," then "...but i didn't stop it." Chat also says "no we need you to make puppies" and "you are the only one that has dogs."
The surprise is that tamed dogs teleport to their owner when the owner is around. A dog had already turned up somewhere else, so the railroad would not have kept one at their base anyway. "We may still need it for the villager."
In a garden full of chests, more wolves get fed and more hearts appear. "Don't get attached to the puppies. They're not actually yours anymore. They're being adopted."
Where it ends
The episode closes with the group following Scoti_Garbidis along the rail paths. Chat insists, "I didn't do anything!" There is no tag after the end cards.
