Episode 9 is the second RainCloud SMP video called "Dogs." The cats went onto the mob sorter in Episode 7, and now the dog side needs filling. Basket and Scoti_Garbidis spend the video at the sorter with Evil_Mech_Meru and Kireinafujin, breeding dogs and getting each one to sit where the sorter needs it. By the end the dogs are in and only a villager is missing.
Company at the sorter
Basket heads through town along the rail line to the farm and meets up there with Evil_Mech_Meru and Kireinafujin. There are dogs to work with. Evil_Mech_Meru keeps up a running commentary in chat: "I didn't do anything!" Then: "Don't judge me." The plan is two dogs on the stone slabs, "but not these two dogs, 'cause these dogs we have to breed up." A puppy wanders down a ladder and ends up next to a cat. "He can't be by the cat. That's not fine." Once one finally sits in its new spot: "He's the dog in the box. Watch him scare skeletons."
How the sorter works
The visitors want to know what all of this is for, and they get the walkthrough. Mobs spawn up top and drop down. Spiders go into their own spot, and zombies go somewhere else. Creepers and skeletons land here. The skeletons see the dogs, run, and fall through the trapdoors, while the creepers run from the cats. The last step is to "make the skeletons kill the creepers" for records, which they joke about selling to the other players. "We have to get all the science done first."
Breeding in the field
The dogs go out to a fenced grassy field to breed. Someone sings a song about buns to coax them along ("Come on dogs, move your buns"). One dog gets angry at a player. "Yeah, that dog is ticked off." The suggestion is to pillar up out of reach. "I think they won't forgive you till you die."
Dogs on the slabs
Getting a dog into the sorter uses a trick: a standing dog teleports to its owner. So the owner goes to the spot where the dog should end up. "Let me stand on the edge here so he doesn't end up on top and then die." It works. "This dog never needs to stand again." Then: "One more spot."
Where it ends
Around the 19-minute mark the recording signs off ("that's gonna be it for my episode") and then keeps going. The puppies get fed until "they're both grown up now." The last baby sits in a corner, and with the water trick it ends up on a half slab one layer up. "We're gonna be able to test this thing tonight." All that's left: "We just need a villager." Scoti_Garbidis signs off for the pair with "we got the dogs."
