Basket is still alone, still in the mineshaft from the last episode, and the olive branch code has one more problem to show. The title card reads "Episode 3, Fixing the Teams."
A spider and a lava bucket
The episode opens with Basket facing off against a spider. There is no bow yet, because there are no arrows yet, and there is no gravel to make them. So Basket pours lava from a bucket toward the spider, scoops it back up and tries again. "There we go." The cows earlier gave only one leather. "That's unfortunate."
Four on a team of two
Then Basket stops. "Hold on, I have to fix this." Chat shows why: "Team Created" with FriarNurgle, TopStiGear, pulse2010 and optimus1971 all on one team, when the limit is two. MomofMiners writes "dangit Friar" and "I thought u were gonna meet me." ty750 adds "great. It is going to be a gang war." Basket types "lol" and then "fixing."
About two minutes pass with chat open while the fix goes in. Then server lines move FriarNurgle and TopStiGear onto a team of their own, and Sayulily posts "sorry :P". Basket's verdict: "So just the first one screwed up. That's not too bad."
Chat turns into a recruiting board. ty750 offers a free set of iron armor to anyone who becomes a friend, erynfaith matches it with free food, and optimus1971 answers "ill be your friend." Another "Team Created" line pairs Scoti_Garbidis with Gopherboy.
Teams can hurt singles
Basket decides to leave the mineshaft and look for a teammate on the surface, crafting iron pants, a helmet, another pick and a sword first. In chat MomofMiners asks "can teams kill singles?" and gets mixed answers. The server settles it: "erynfaith was slain by FriarNurgle." "Ouch. That's the first death." Basket types "yes" in chat, and MomofMiners writes "so yes they can."
The Soul Crusher warning follows. Not long after, "Gopherboy was slain by TopStiGear," which leaves Scoti_Garbidis alone on a team. "He's stuck on his own."
Gravel and arrows
It is sunset now, and Basket would rather not go up and have monsters spawn around the exit. So the plan changes: cook the iron, dig out the gravel nearby for flint, and make arrows until day. Basket splits a batch across three furnaces to speed things up and keeps a chest on hand, so loot from a kill can go straight into it. "I really wish I found diamonds, but I guess I made the choice of trying to find a teammate instead."
A bow comes next, then 40 arrows. "Good, 40 arrows is nice."
Checking the health list
The Tab list shows BasketMC, Virii333 and ty750 at full health. FriarNurgle, TopStiGear and optimus1971 are down to a heart or two, and Scoti_Garbidis is close to full. "I'm surprised I haven't taken any damage." Basket asks in chat "you burning?" and Sayulily answers "No, Benchmarking." Scoti_Garbidis writes "i think pulse just caught gopher dying."
The server posts "End of Day 3. Players remaining:" and lists fourteen names, BasketMC included. Basket is alive, still without a teammate, and waiting underground for daylight to go and find one.
