Day four starts the way day three ended: Basket underground, cooking the last of the iron, still without a teammate. The title card reads "Episode 4, Finding a Teammate," and the plan is simple. Go up and find somebody.
Rain and a long walk
Up top it is raining. "Oh, it's raining. That's bad." The border has shrunk, and Basket was fairly close to it, so the walk heads toward the middle of the map with the compass every player was given. A skeleton opens fire on the way. "Don't shoot me, don't shoot me."
Chat brings the day's first death: "rsmalec tried to swim in lava." Basket types "gg!", others follow, and the Soul Crusher warning comes up. ty750 writes "i am so dead" and asks if anyone has apples. MomofMiners answers "nope."
Offers in chat
The invitations start. MomofMiners asks Basket to team up at the center and adds "i'm single and ready to mingle." Virii333 writes "basket, wanna team? Team 10 Hearts?" Basket won't promise anything. "Somebody else could get there before me."
Chat also tries to sort out the rules again. MomofMiners asks "if we're single we can't kill?" ty750 answers "not other singles though," and Basket types "singles can kill other teams." Scoti_Garbidis reports being "tricked by optimus false death message," and still alive.
A fight at the center
Near the middle there is a cobblestone building with torches on top, but no names around it. "Your base does not impress me."
Then chat reads "optimus1971 was slain by pulse2010." The season's first team has turned on itself. A few seconds later pulse2010 is in the field in front of Basket at dusk, sword out, and after a short fight the server posts "pulse2010 was slain by BasketMC." Basket's health bar is down to about half.
MomofMiners writes "what???" and then "team mates fighting already." FriarNurgle adds "fight!!!" Virii333 withdraws the offer: "sorry basket, you no longer qualify... how about you pik?" Basket types "lol!" and puts the dropped gear in a large chest. Scoti_Garbidis later calls the building a "trap by optimus and pulse to kill me."
The olive branch works
Then pikerize turns up, and the server posts "Team Created: BasketMC and pikerize." After four days, the olive branch has done its job. Sayulily writes "There are no friends here." Basket fills in the new teammate on the fight: "Pulse killed optimus, and then I ran up behind him and ended up killing him. But now I'm lower in hearts."
Down the shaft
The two dig straight down together. Chat keeps going: "AngryK9 was shot by Skeleton," "pulse2010 left the game," and TopStiGear earns the Diamonds achievement. Sayulily has found some way to get hearts back, "totally by accident," and promises to tell Basket about the bug later. MomofMiners writes "that gives her an unfair advantage." Sayulily: "Staph bein' jelly."
The Tab list shows BasketMC and pikerize in matching pink, both a little over half health. Then, from Basket: "Found the lava, found the lava." The server posts "End of Day 4. Players remaining:" with ten names, pikerize and BasketMC first. Basket is alive, on a team at last, and deep underground when the episode ends.
