Day two starts where day one ended, with Basket underground and still not back with the team. The intro card reads "GopherCraft UHC 12: Bring a Friend to Die" before the gameplay picks up.
Digging toward the team
Basket's teammates are somewhere nearby, and the plan is to dig straight down and meet them. Over voice the other two already have gold and some diamonds. Basket keeps tunneling and checking for nameplates through the stone. "I figured by now I would see you guys." Then a green Evil_Mech_Meru nameplate comes down the tunnel.
Emeralds and a fire
The tunnel opens onto emerald ore. "Yay, emeralds!" Not much use in UHC, but it is something. Then a teammate catches fire. A crafting table placed next to lava has burned, and with no natural healing the damage stays. The player list a minute later shows FriarNurgle down to three hearts. Basket's team is the green one on that list, with BasketMC, Evil_Mech_Meru and FriarNurgle, all still alive.
Iron for armor
The team sets up furnaces and gets the iron cooking. The plan is simple: whoever has iron makes armor. Basket crafts iron leggings. In chat, thepigglesworth asks if everyone is "supposed to have uber cool hats on right now," and Basket types back "lol. yeah, surprise to me." They also count up their gold, enough to talk about a golden apple.
The border arrives
Chat posts "Soul Crusher is coming!" with the border shrinking 138 blocks over five minutes. Basket asks if they have an escape route already dug. They don't. A few minutes later Basket's screen starts turning red: the border has reached the tunnels. The team splits up to dig away from it. Over voice someone is taking damage, and there is talk of a silverfish. Then chat reads "Evil_Mech_Meru was slain by Silverfish." Scoti_Garbidis, thepigglesworth and Bakerbelle all post "gg."
Two left, and the wall again
There is not much time to be upset. "Soul Crusher will wake in 2 minutes!" comes up next, since every death moves the border. Basket and the remaining teammate tunnel toward the center of the map. Over voice it is a rush of small problems: iron worth stopping for, a cave with a baby zombie in it, a pickaxe that needs replacing and iron that still needs cooking, all with the border somewhere behind.
The server posts "End of Day 2. Players remaining:" with twelve names, BasketMC and FriarNurgle among them. Basket is alive and still digging away from the border when the episode ends.
